laughing, for me to consider a pool warm it needs to be around 88! My pond was 82 right before the power out, now I can't see it, but tomorrow home!

My ponds were at 84 degrees last weekend, after having 90's the week before, so yes, I would guess your pond was at 80, J.W. Now with the temps back down to only mid 70's for a high, and 50's for lows at night, the temp right now is 72, probably down into the 60s by morning.

Ah HA!!! That is why you guys have such nice lillys and big flowers all the time!!!! My area is shaded from the hottest sun of the day, and that is why my lillys do not grow as fast as yours cause my water temperature can barely get to 70 degrees! Oh well, can't have everything, and I will take the cooler water as it is better for the fish, but sucks for my lillys....

What are those pretty plants that are light green, Colleen, with the red shoots coming up from them? They look really cool, never seen anything like that!
JW, I have not mentioned the "man" until that post. Been dating since first of June, and man oh man is he awesome! I always said I was not going to settle for a guy that was self-centered, or one that was lazy, or all sorts of other negative things. This guy (his name is Joe) is the most kind, caring, giving person I've ever met ... besides me. LOL We both seem to like EVERYTHING the same, which is kinda scary! So, good things in our future, I'm sure! Time will tell .... thanks for commenting. :)

CE that plant beside my temperature gauge is a moss that grew there naturally a few years back, on the lava rock sticking out of the waters edge, it does looks good and I have been thinking of getting more lava rock so it can spread on the pond edge. It seems to only like to grow on the lava rock... Glad to hear you have a hot new man!!!

Just had a little thunderstorm and Poppy was squishing me on the bed this morning, scared for her life, and clinging to "Mommy" !

Speaking of dogs afraid of storms, turns out my beagle, Smokey, is a worry wart, too! Last week, he took off on Wed. night when I was out to supper with Joe. Neighbors were shooting off fireworks. He ended up at neighbors to the S of me, and they didn't recognize him because he was "sooo sweet" and not chasing their car. LOL They had him inside all night, came home next a.m. when I hollered - they probably heard me holler. Then 2 days later, same thing, I was out with a friend for her birthday, neighbors shot off fireworks, this time Smokey headed farther S, ended up 1.5 miles. They took him to local vet, who would not give him back when I called ... "because we turned him in to the County, and they require proof of current vaccinations". Grrrr ... well, it was a good thing, all my dogs are now vaccinated, but it still ticked me off! Turned into a 3.5 hour Sat. a.m. that I did not plan on. But, in the end, all dogs now have collars, address/name tags, and rabies tags. There is no sure thing keeping the collars on, and even if you microchip, someone may not take them to vet to get checked.

Sounds to me like you found a keeper CE. Have a nice time w/ him and enjoy life together. My hubby and I enjoy a lot of the same things which really makes it nice. Neither one of us care for watching sports either so that's a plus. Course we did watch/listen to parts of the Super Bowl..................it's different when it's a big thing happening w/ your state and that only happens once in a great while.
Sorry about the fiasco w/ the dog and the vet. You turned the vet into the county? Maybe you mentioned something about that and I just forgot. Guess that was something in the past and he didn't like it so took advantage of this situation to maybe make life a bit miserable for you for a bit. Glad you got your dog back.

We lost our sunshine for the moment but it will be back this afternoon so they say. Won't be hot tho, only in the mid 70's or so. I don't mind at all, the 70's are perfect. You can work, walk etc. w/o the sweat

Glad to hear the puppies are all safe and sound and back home where they belong CE. TOo bad they made it difficult to get the puppies back, that would have drove me "wild"!
I have to keep Poppy locked up or she would be so frightened she would run away too. One time the gate was open and it started to storm, and I seen PopPy just in the nick of time, as she was "panic running" into the middle of the road. They get so frightened they try to run away from storm. If it is really bad the storm, I open the door to the basement and Poppy knows by instinct to run down there!
