Having coffee right now outside by the pond, max relax, like I do every morning if I can, fish look healthy and happy and I already took the old puppies to the river for a swim and run, now it is off to work I go!
Flowers out front look good, and I need to finish that cobble work out front!

86 here right now. Got the liner in and adjusted and started the pump. So far so good but will wait to see if the level drops before doing final trim. Hopefully with this new section I can keep some of my other water lilies. The ones I got from Addy don't seem to taste too good this year.

It was HOT yesterday, in the 90's very humid last night. Today the thermometer says 85, but it sure felt hotter. Going to go down to only 70's for highs for 3-4 days this coming week, and lows in the 50's! Woohoo, that's PERFECT weather in my book. I went into both of my ponds today, groomed the lilies and pulled penny wart that was creeping into the goldfish pond. Netted muck out of both ponds while I was in there and could reach areas can't reach very well from the outside because of shelfs, fountains, etc. in the way. Ran air bubbler for a couple of hours in the koi pond, and now all the water is nice and clear.
Mrs. Clem, not sure about your lilies, but mine don't care to be in lots of water movement. I like your waterfall going into that trough, though. Hope you have your leaf fixed. Good luck!

Mrs Clem, I like how you have the water flowing threw the old worn clay brick, good idea and good use of old materials. I like how you have the water flowing gently threw the lillys, cause that will help keep the parasites down as lilly's are well known to harbor parasites that could harm the fish! :)

Just noticed the little bitty frog in your trough pic, Mrs. Clem!
It got in the mid 80's again, storms blew through this afternoon, netted me half inch of rain, which I am thankful for! Tonight, temps going down to the 50's, so windows are open again and I'm loving the fresh air! Next few days highs only in the 70's, lows in the 50's. Woohoo!!!

My pant's are all falling off me these days, not sure if it is all the hard work and or eating large amounts of gee butter! I fry potatos, vegs and piece of meat in gee butter and it can all be cooked in one pan!! Easy Peasy and quick too!! I read in the Time Magazine that butter is a Super Food, and does not cause heart attack, does not make you fat, it helps you lose weight!!! Just like I always said... Saturated fat is very good for you and our body only understands saturated fats..
Did you know that the unhealthy bad trans fats are ONLY in the VEGETABLE OIL!! Pure Lard has ZERO Trans fats!! EAT your Heart out JW!!

Mitch you can buy "pure lard" down the baking section at any grocery store in Alberta, Safeway. Superstore, Co-Op, almost anywhere! In the USA it is different and they sell some stuff that is not good, like hydrogenated somehow. I get my pure lard from the Super Store and it has zero trans fats, but be careful, if you get the Vegetable Shorting, then you will get almost 5 grams of TRANS FAT! Top chefs all over the world are going back to the pure lard cause there is no bad TRANS FAT and that is a FACT!

The vegetable oil is giving everybody heart trouble! It was always a BIG FAT LIE that the vegetable crap was ever good! That is why there is the controversy on the evil margarine, and the debate on removing it from the grocery store cause even though it says zero trans fat on the margarine, it is a LIE! In order for the polyunsaturated vegetable oil to hold a solid form like butter, it HAS to be partly hydrogenated, which turns it into bad trans fat! Polyunsaturated vegetable oil is like corn, soybean, sunflower, safflower, oils, they do not turn solid even if it is placed in the refrigerator, unlike saturated fats. Monounsaturated fats like nut or olive oils, they turn cloudy when placed in the refrigerator. http://www.thestar.com/life/health_...05/14/why_lards_healthier_than_you_think.html

in the future, most people will wake up and "smell the coffee" and go back to bacon and eggs and save that fat from the bacon {like our healthy skinny forefathers did}, cause it is good to use to fry stuff and thow out the evil vegetable oil as it turns quickly to trans fat when heated. Sad thing is most of us have eaten lots of the bad trans fats already and now we need to clean out our arteries by eating a ton of saturated animal fats!

In the future the evil vegetable oils will be off the shelf and we will all be horrified to learn we fed this bad stuff to ourselves and our children.
In the future they will talk about how mass amounts of people were all deceived into believing that the foods that we had been eating for thousands of years, were suddenly no longer good for us, and that the evil vegetable oil was good! But it was actually killing us!!

It still amazes me that so many people still think that the saturated fats, that we have been eating for thousands of years, are not good. Did you know that before the vegetable oils showed up on our table, when all we ate was saturated animal fats, no one ever heard of a heart attack,. Yes they worked hard back then, but not everybody! lots of people did not work hard cause they were upper class, and we had "hired hands" and "slaves" and still no body ever had a heart attack!! Protect your heart and eat animal fats people, cause we were designed to eat animal fats and that is why the bible says the animal fats are the best!!
