72F here and rising at 10:15am...............here we go John H.................Summer has arisen

Not so quick says Spring. We had one sunny day yesterday. Today is muggy and it just rained!

This house right next door is currently getting the basement gutted and the sewer soiled remains will be hauled away and the house will be restored....

It was for sale before the flood ....

here they have serve pro that will go in and clean up flooded or burned houses .They do a great job .My son had them do his house after Sandy storm

It is low 80's here today, very windy. Then rained a little, winds blew again, but now sun is back out, no wind. I was mowing, looked like the storm was going to neat NW of me, but it didn't, it came right back toward me. So, rained just enough to make the grass hard to mow, will finish it tomorrow. Loving the cooler temps, though, windows and doors back open to the fresh air. Loving it!

Some of these houses were rentals and the owners we're "slum lords" so I think the city wants to shut them down. The other side of the back alley has many more homes that were flooded with sewer and the houses are very old, but they are homeowners and the city does not seem to condemn the people who own their own home, even it it should be. In the next year or so I hope they will tear down the old condemned homes and build something better, some of these old houses had crack addicted people, and they were scary skinny and very poor....

More rain and storms today. Raining hard now as type! Country this stuff may be heading your way also. Did get a little excitement. We tried to get close to a week tornado today. This was north of Mattoon. Did not live long. But was neat. Also attached is the growing top of a new storm as it starts to intensify. This was taken about a week earlier.

Was hot yesterday and will be hotter today. John H we didn't get any rain here yesterday. Was very humid tho and uncomfortable. I prefer the drier heat. Is nice an sunny right now but wondering if it will turn that horrid humid up for us later on.

We have had sun, then high winds and downpour, then sun ... repeat. This has been weird weekend! Going to sit on deck with a glass of wine pretty soon with neighbor. Her kids are gone to camp, and hubby is playing ball tonight, so we will have mom chit chat time. Each time I think the rains are done, and the sun is out, WHAM, here comes another downpour. Very strange. I wish it would just rain and get it over with and then let the sun come out! Great temps, just in the mid to upper 70's which is wonderful!!!
ICSD, yesterday afternoon I just got a light rain, but about 2 miles north of me, my friend called it "pouring like the dam broke". It was VERY spotty in our area yesterday, and today on and off and on again. Right now, birds singing, and everything fresh and clean smelling. Ready for that wine ...
BTW, those were some really great photos, ICSD!!!
