3" - 5" of snow expected tonight.
Hey @JBtheExplorer thanks for the overnight pkg of snow you sent!3" - 5" of snow expected tonight.
Chainsaw eh?,lol..............reminds me of someone else who is quite popular now w/a chainsaw who wants to get things done just like yourselfAbsolute first for me here, The pond has 16 inches of ice first 6 inches is frozen snow followed by 12" of crystal clear ice. It's been a heck of a winter here. Kinda like the old days, Not that we had temps down in the single numbers or below, but it has been at or below freezing for months now.
How and why do i know this
? while all my fish are swimming around slowly every day. There has been one sitting on the bottom that wasn't laying on it's side but was not straight up either leaning against a rock. . after weeks of not seeming to move i decided it was time to see what exa tly was going on and broke out the chain saw and the pond vac. The chain saw was an electric with a 16 inch blade and i was dumbfounded when i drove the blade straight down and no water came up and gave me a nice cold bath. "was not looking forward to that" what i thought would be about 6ich of crust and ice turned out to be a larger task than expected.
Whats worse was after opening a hole large enough for a large net that could reach the bottom of the pond. when i final got the ice out and was able to get a pole down to the fish which i could not see from the hole.
MY WIFE FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE HAD TO look at the monitor screen to the pc and yell out the window to direct me toward the fish.
So after close to two hours I WAS ABLE TO GET THE NET CLOSE TO THE FISH and the wife said it just turned i think it see's you coming .. Sure enough as soon as i got close to it it swam off...
Bright side to the story it is the send day in months the temp is over 40 at least i wasn't freezing during the process
