It's first shotgun weekend for deer in IL, and that changed my plans of riding my mule in the woods near my house! That would have been a huge mistake. Instead, yesterday I got all of my metal art, solar lights, etc. picked up and put in the shed for winter. Today I'll get my yard "deer" out for Christmas. It's so beautiful, hate to waste the day inside. Then may pull nails from the boards of the wooden playset I tore apart last weekend. Cross stitching will finish out my day, after heading to town for a few necessities that I forgot to get on Friday, darn it.
Heading up to 57 and sunny all day! I'll take it for the weekend before Thanksgiving!!!

Sissy I'd send it all your way if I could!

CE that sounds like you made the right decision on not riding into a battle zone! How long do you have to wait now before it's safe again?

Rainy here and crows are really gathering in the yard looking for yummies! Worms must be coming up to gasp for air from all the water underground. Darn dvr box from Comcast keeps making the tv go black. Guy came out to look at it but of course it wouldn't do it when he was here. He didn't have a spare box to exchange us for so he's coming back and now the thing has blacked out again so we are leaving it that way to show him till he gets here today w/ the other one. He must have thought we were nuts when it was working just fine while he was here. Now he will see we aren't.............well at least in regards to the dvr box :D
Bill says they should not have their people work on Sundays and just give us a better deal on the cable!

I took advantage of the almost 60 egrees today. Did some work around pond, split a ton of wood and just enjoyed the nice sun.

It was gorgeous today! Supposed to get up to 57 according to Weather.com, but my outdoor thermometer said it was 63! Sunny all day, too.
JW, the shotgun weekends for deer are this weekend (Fri-Sun) then the weekend after Thanksgiving is 4-dayy (Thurs-Sun) and I know they added another 3 day weekend in December, not sure if it's the one after 2nd shotgun or not. Then I think there is a weekend in January, used to be only handgun, but now it's all guns, I think at least.
I got my snow fence put up in the field across from my house. It's so flat, that snow just blows and then drifts on my driveway, since my house faces west.

Then, I know Thanksgiving is Thursday, and I'm sure not trying to rush Christmas, but when I get such a beautiful weekend to put up outside lights, I go for it! Got the few lights up in the yard that I do for Christmas for ME! No one comes by my house, except me coming home from work, and I really love to see the lights at night!

Then I noticed this sunset reflection in the windows! How neat is that?

Never even ever thought about snow fences. Think I knew about them but never knew anyone who had one. I can see why you would need one CE cuz that's one heck of a lot of flatland
Your lights look real pretty out there welcoming you home from a hard days work! And what a neat way to grab a sunset B)
Hope you get another nice day to ride the mule and horses before the snow kicks in on ya :cold:

I hope I do, too, JW, but it's not looking promising. Thanksgiving coming up, beautiful weather for the next week yet, but I'll be heading to WI for the T'giving holiday with my brother, so will have to wait for the following weekend, but that's the second shotgun weekend for deer hunters. So, will have to wait for 3 weekends before I can ride again. Oh well! I can ride in coveralls, just not sure others will want to join me. LOL
JW, my brother organized a "Flash Mob" at Pikes Place Market this afternoon! I totally forgot to mention it to you, but I'll post the video once the videographers get it put together, hopefully in the next couple of days! It was on his "bucket list" to participate in a Flash Mob, so he organized one and got it done in about a month's time!

You have such a pretty and nice house. I bet old time snow fence was just about the same as sand dune fence we used on the Gulf coast back in the day.

Here's the FreezeMob/FlashMob. You will see my brother in the very beginning. He is carrying flowers, and his wife is holding an umbrella. In the FreezeMob part, he is down on one knee, looking lovingly into her eyes, holding out the flowers to her! The FreezeMob part started the whole thing, people on the outskirts froze in place when the music started. Then the dancers came in. There are a few professional dancers, the first 4 that join, the rest are anyone that wanted to learn the dance routine (they were given the routine over the net, so I could have learned it!!!) and join in! It was amazing! I'm sooo proud of my brother for getting this put together. Hope you all enjoy it!!!

They use that same type of fence in Atlantic City NJ and here they hardly ever use it because of all the hills and mountains .
