Agree with Colleen above, you will have to plant a Piggy garden, just for him, so he can dig and eat to his heart's content! Maybe some corn or beans or something that would be good for him to eat. LOL
Addy, your plants look great! I just noticed this morning my Mandevilla vine FINALLY died! The clematis behind it, which I thought was already dormant, is green, though, so it was there, I just could not see it behind the Mandevilla. I decided not to deal with bringing in the climbing vine again. It's tall and heavy to move the arbor and pot together, so I let it die. It sure held on a long time, though. Maybe, if I'm lucky, it will come back in the spring, but sure not expecting that to happen.
Colleen, that gingerbread house was really cute! Very well made and decorated. And, can I assume you were teaching the "build a gingerbread house" class in your witch outfit?! Cute!!!
I think it only got down to about 34 here last night, up to 37 now, sun is shining so brightly, going to be a beautiful weekend! Going to ask neighbor if she wants to ride horse/mule with me this afternoon, show me a few trails by her house. That way I can ride and not have to ride the roads here ALL the time. That will be nice! Otherwise, plans are to take down all my solar lights around the ponds that are more fragile and put them away for the winter. A few I can leave out, though. Just figure the snow and ice will deteriorate them much quicker so save them for when I can be outside at night to enjoy them in the spring-fall.

Thanks CE. I made the gingerbread house at home in the wee hours of the night, all by myself. I just thought Ginger bread houses and witches go together cause of Hanzel and Gretel story, the witch was me from last month, wore it to work at the bakery and scared small children, he he he. I make these gingerbread stuff cause it's fun then wrap and give away. The kids across the street their mother is sick with cancer so I will make them one this year and stuff the inside with Christmas chocolates and give to the boy to take home.

Last night I was up late again, this time I made the Gingerbread Train, going to display it at work for people to look at and get them in the mood to buy the gingerbread kits.

Nice chilly, sunshiny morning here. Enjoyed scooping leaves out of our pond while Sunny played. The nuts from the cypress trees are small, sink to the bottom fast and are difficult to scoop. Sadly, I believe my Gambusia's have died since the major cleanout. Will have to stock more when spring returns.

OK, get this, since Lou mentioned scooping leaves! I was looking at my fish, ponds are crystal clear, some leaves on the bottom. Was going to net the leaves out, although there are not a huge amount, just a thin layer on the bottom, I'd guess. Anyhow, noticed some "red" in and among the leaves in the goldfish pond. There were at least 3 of the goldfish, one of them one of my largest, nestled in the leaves, sleeping. They were not moving at all, wondered if they were alive, then one of them moved. So, I'm leaving the leaves. Maybe they like snuggling in the leaves on the bottom. Has anyone else ever noticed this? Maybe check closely before you net your leaves! I know I "caught" two bullfrogs last time I netted. :)

I'm sure I have lots of stuff like leaves, Anacharis, various other plants that have sunk to the bottom looking for warmer waters and I'm leaving it all in there this winter and the fish can all make a nice bed in there and pick away at it like when I sit up to watch a good movie w/ my sweet potato chips or popcorn.........well fish like to snack too ya know. Just think of all the wormy, buggy creatures down there for them to nibble on..................yu uh um good :alieneyesa:

Thunder and lightning going on in some places around here. Winds are supposed to pick up later. Rains have arrived and tomorrow will be even worse! Hubby got 3 trees cut before the rains pounded down on him. Only 3 more left................I chickened out and didn't go help him today.
