Oh CE that's terrible, my goodness all that trouble for just having tooth pulled! I sure hope it heals fast and feel very bad for you, hubby just went though terrible teeth pulling too. I try comfort him as best as I can. He is struggling with everything. I tired to get him makeup to cover the new part of face, got some organic chemical free foundation but he hates the smell. Then I went back out and got him some different foundation, but it did not work well either. I never wear makeup, never have, cause it bugs my eyes, so I need to get my lady friend who is good with makeup to come show us what we need to cover the "patch".

Then there is the big storm coming, could be the same one MyPond is getting, we usually get the same weather I think, I always hear the Weatherman talk about the new storms "rolling in from Montana". Then I had to run around town last nite, till eleven PM, looking for new boots for hubby, had to get extra big boots to fit the big bandage from lower leg where it is healing, from skin and bone grafts. Poor guy, he gets cranky easy, can't blame him, just happy to have him cranky and alive. So the first two boots did not fit, so I had to run take them back, told him if I did not get it right the third time to just "beat me with the cane" the nice nurses gave him, if it would make him feel better. So the third time the boots were big enough and fit good, been spared the "cane" beating for now.... hubby on couch watching HIS favorite show right now, Jerry Springer, I hate it, but it makes him laugh lots and that makes me happy.

Was extremely foggy here this morning, maybe 1/10 mile visibility, but knew the sun was trying to push trough that. Got plug put in tooth cavity hole, but wish he would not have done it. It was better, no air going through, but he still did it, and it HURT LIKE HELL!!! And, did the plugs stay in? Until about 2, then at least one of them came out. Whatever. I'm fine, it seems to be healing, so doesn't matter.
Supposed to have warm sunny 60's Fri. through Sun., sure looking forward to that!!! I can see horseback riding (and mule) this weekend for sure!

Well CE ride carefully so as not to jog up your tooth thingy although by then things should have calmed down in your pie hole

Cool and sunny here, mowed the lawn for the last time this year. Tomorrow wood cutting on the agenda unless of course it rains!

Oh that was the worst blizzard I ever had to drive threw today. Just got back from Calgary and the roads were very icy, on the way back it was dark and the snow was blowing so bad I was only going 50km and hour. I was SCaRed for MY LiFE!!! But hubby told me little trick, when driving in the dark, in a blinding snow storm, turn the interior light on, that way the snow won't blind you and you will be able to focus on the road. Worked really good, when snow flying directly into windshield, allowed me to see past the blinding snow!

Neat trick, Colleen, I'll have to try to remember that! Usually try to never have to drive in blowing snow, but you never know! I a 4WD truck, so usually make it to work, snow or no snow. It's ice that I think twice before heading out!
41 and sunny outside. Wish I could stay home, but tomorrow and Sunday supposed to be warmer than today's 60! I'm off on Veteran's Day, too. Hoping to take my favorite Veteran out to supper (my son).

For all you using auxiliary generators --------

Avoid generator risks by following these safety tips from CONSUMER NEWS

A good generator can get you through a power outage but it also poses safety hazards of its own including carbon monoxide poisoning, electric shock or electrocution and the risk of fire. Every year, people die in incidents related to portable generator use, reports the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Most of the incidents involve CO poisoning from generators used indoors or in partially-enclosed spaces. Here's how to stay safe, with tips from the CPSC.

Carbon monoxide hazards

Never use a generator in an enclosed or partially-enclosed space. Generators can produce high levels of carbon monoxide very quickly. Remember that you cannot smell or see CO. Even if you can't smell exhaust fumes, you may still be exposed to CO. If you start to feel sick, dizzy, or weak while using a generator, get to fresh air immediately. The CO from generators can rapidly lead to full incapacitation and death.

Never use a generator indoors, including in homes, garages, basements, crawl spaces, and other enclosed or partially-enclosed areas, even with ventilation. Opening doors and windows or using fans will not prevent CO build-up in the home.
Follow the instructions that come with your generator. Locate the unit outdoors and away from doors, windows, and vents that could allow CO to come indoors.

Use battery-operated CO alarms or plug-in CO alarms with battery back-up in your home, according to the manufacturer's installation instructions. Test the CO alarms and replace dead batteries.

Electrical hazards

Keep the generator dry and do not use it in rain or wet conditions. To protect from moisture, operate it on a dry surface under an open, canopy-like structure. Dry your hands before touching the generator.

Plug appliances directly into the generator. Or, use a heavy duty, outdoor-rated extension cord that is rated (in watts or amps) at least equal to the sum of the connected appliance loads. Check that the entire cord is free of cuts or tears and that the plug has all three prongs, especially a grounding pin.

Never try to power the house wiring by plugging the generator into a wall outlet, a practice known as "backfeeding." This is an extremely dangerous practice that presents an electrocution risk to utility workers and neighbors served by the same utility transformer. It also bypasses some of the built-in household circuit protection devices.

For best results, use an appropriate power transfer switch, installed by a professional.

Fire hazards

Before refueling the generator, turn it off and let it cool down. Gasoline spilled on hot engine parts could ignite.
Never store fuel for your generator in the home. Gasoline, propane, kerosene, and other flammable liquids should be stored outside of living areas in properly-labeled, non-glass safety containers. Do not store them near a fuel-burning appliance, such as a natural gas water heater in a garage.

Power inverters, an alternative to generators, also pose safety concerns. Here's how to use a power inverter safely. Plus more generator safety tips from the CPSC. And more on generators from Consumer Reports generator buying guide.

Yes good to know, I killed the new generator after just one use couple years ago, don't know what happened. Hubby was out of town and I had to "fend for myself" and get instructions over the phone on how to get it running!

Weather right now, 25 degrees and dropping, pond growing some "Ice"....
