May I ask to whom you were addressing your comment? I ask because I too would like a couple of cattails.
It's me it's me it's me!!!!! I have a BUNCH of dwarf cattails. I purchased just one set of plants last year in the spring, and this year separated them into the goldfish pond bog, too. Put maybe 12 plants in, and now have at least 3 times that many in there and 20 or more in the koi pond bog! Who wants some, and how many? I'll be happy to ship now or in the spring for shipping only. :) Just tell me what you want. They are the dwarf variety, only had one or two cattail "blooms" this year, so next year hoping to have many more. None last year, first year in my pond. Lou, it's warm where you are, but if anyone else is interested, PM me, so I will hopefully remember come spring who asked for them. Just make the message subject be "Want Cattails" or something like that!
I have cut them back for this year as of last weekend, but for you, Lou, in the warm temps there (assume you have warmer temps anyhow) they will come right back to life. If anyone else wants them and your weather is cold, probably would be best to send them after the thaw in the spring. As always, I'm happy to share!
And, while I'm at it, if you are wanting them in the spring, I'll also have tons of water clover and penny wart for postage in the spring as well. It's still growing in leaps and bounds, spreads easily and quickly, so keep that in mind.

Ryan, do you mean you would like some cattails, too, or you HAVE some, too? Just wanted to be sure, as if you want some, I'll add you to the list. Best if anyone wants any cattails to PM me and let me know if you would like it now (if you're in warmer climates) or in the spring, otherwise I'll forget ... I know me and my memory. :)

They are saying a noreaster is coming tuesday / wednesday to smack the northern states again. Those poor people. Power companies are sending hundreds of workers from down here to help out, now that our power is back.

Yep, you're right, Wendy. Hey, did you go to that landscaping place auction? Wasn't that last weekend maybe? Darn, I was going to make a trip your way, see your ponds, bring some plants, totally forgot. Go figure .... LOL
I'll be begging for people to take plants, just pay postage, in the spring. I know I have tons right now, and they are going to do nothing but multiply come spring. The Water Clover and Penny Wart are going great guns. Even have some water parsley, but it got somewhat crowded out by the previously two mentioned plants. Cattails did exceptionally well, too. Next year I want to try to "train" my plants to stay put and not spread so much, but we shall see if putting pot "rings" round them will help or work. Some will likely climb up and over the edges.

Yah I went, it was VERY cold tho! Lol Got some great deals, spent around 160$, not too bad for a days work ;)
The only thing I got that can go into a bog/pond would be the lilies, everything else I can plant around it, which is fine cause I need to landscape yet too. Got an absolutely beautiful Lace Leaf Weeping Red Maple, it's not real tall yet, maybe 4 feet, but it's 6'+ wide already; only paid 40$ for it! :D Got a magnolia, couple different succulents and lots more great stuff cheep. Now if i can just keep Mr Piggy from EATING them! Lol Almost bid on a Bald Cyprus but was afraid it would get too big for where I want it and worry about the roots system too. Honestly CE, we weren't there maybe an hour, we left before it was over.

I'm back!! Had to drive to Calgary, John had another Doctor appointment. Missed most of the hurricane news, but what I saw of the new, it was very bad. Read the parts of this thread that I missed, glad that everybody here OK! The pictures were very scary, those big waves can rip everything apart!

Here in Alberta, had to drive in very heavy fog to get to Calgary. It was horrible, could barely see cars in front of me. The drive took twice as long as it should have, tired from all the driving. The antenna on the truck kept getting ice from the fog and would yo-yo back and forth under the weight of the ice, had to stop several times to knock the ice off truck. We had freezing rain too.

Had to drive twice this week to Calgary in very heavy fog, freezing rain, was horrible!

Hubby took pictures while I drove, look you can barely see car ahead of me!
