I was pulling out leaves from the bog yesterday. I swear there were a billion of them( yes I counted). Once I got past 100 I knew it was a billion so that's what I going with. Trying to get all of the marsh bentony out of the pond and bog. Got my skippy filter tore out last weekend and moved my waterfall over. Got the new PVC pipe ran and new ball valves put in.

Are your cattails wild native plants or from nurseries? Like many native plants here wild cattails are protected.
SERIOUSLY???? Around here we have thousands of acres of nothing but cattails, and the damn things pop up anywhere they can find a little moisture.

They have them here also but there areas are hard to get to and not the safest places ,snakes and very slippery and lots of mosquito's .I bought them online it was much easier than risking life and limb ,don't want a hospital bill  .Would be willing to send Haro out there to get them for me

I do it every spring, Sissy! Pot up a dozen or so nice, big plants and sell them at the garden centre to folks who don't want the hassle of fighting off water moccasins, rattlesnakes, and alligators to get their plants. :yikesu:

After researching protection of cattails I find myself mistaken. Cattails are not a protected plant in Texas. I believe I confused the protection of cattails with protection of natural wetlands.

Think CountryEscape (CE) mentioned something about having extra cattails she will mail you or trade or something for them.
