Big Lou, those weird lights give me a headache, and I don't think they are good to look at for very long. Its about 50 degrees here and sunny, my pond is so pretty today....:)

That doesn't sound good Lou and hope that doesn't happen to you again! Seems like the doc could give you something to help w/ those. I've heard of that happening to some people. My neighbor has a grandson who has a problem w/ seizures when playing those video games. What show were you watching that had a strobe light in it? Hope you feel better and glad your team one!

Thank you j.w.

Complex Partial Seziure Disorder (CPSD), (a form of Epilepsy) is one of my primary illness. I have a very good team of doctors and do take very effective meds. Last nights event was the first one I have had in quite some time. My CPSD seizures are not anything like grand mal. My seizures leave me in a confused state with pain generally restricted to my head, eyes and one side of my body. To recover my mind basically reboots and makes me immediately sleepy and weak. After about 48 hours I'm better. Cathy is well adept at dealing with this and my other maladies.

We are blessed everyday by God. :)

Rain just coming now and missed it by minutes cutting trees. Got outta there just in time. Only 20 more trees to cut, yippee!!!
We cut about 4 per day so 5 more dry days and they are all cut down. But then comes the splitting and the packing into the truck to take the wood home and then stack it all. Good thing is we bought a gas wood splitter a few yrs ago and makes that part go faster. We'll take the splitter over there and do it so we don't have to handle the wood as much.

Great idea, Colleen. Some of my pots have handles, but did I think to use the ones with handles for the deeper placed pots? Nope! But, putting a hole in the side may do the job nicely. When I pull those deeper pots, will see about cutting a hole, to help hoist them out later.

60* and sunny here but wihe the wind chill feels like 40. Possible bad weather (again) coming so cleaned out the lilies in the ginrin pond. I really hated to do it as they were still blooming but didn't want to wait till the water froze. Pulled out the 2 gallon buckets they were planted in and put them in the square planting baskets. No more kitty litter! Some of the buckets had been tipped over and others had the plants pulled out. I put plastic fencing over the tops of the baskets and fastened it with zip ties. Poor fishies miss their plants. No more endless salad bar or hiding places. Will drop the stock tank heaters in tommorow just in case.
Good luck with your mesh baskets, Mrs.Clem. I used them last year, first year, and learned all they do is allow the roots to escape, which then grab on anything and everything close, and pretty soon you have a root mess. Maybe your koi will keep them trimmed off, though! I had 2 pots that had grown literally together with all the roots that had gotten "out of the pot" on the mesh pots. I don't think I'll use them again. I prefer the round more flat pots (I use cut off 3 or 5 gallon buckets) as the roots keep going around the pot, rather than trying to go up and over or OUT! I'll be interested to hear how yours do next year. Sounds like your koi love to nibble! So far I've not had that problem, so don't let your koi Facebook with mine or anything and let them know how delicious the roots are, okay?!

CE- Yes, I'm sure the roots will escape. I had planted some of the lilies in the fabric mesh bags and when I went to pull them, 2 or 3 grown together! Had to cut them apart. The 2 gal. buckets were good as they had plastic rope handles which made them easy to grab with a small rake but no drainage so they were heavy! We have about 50 koi in that pond, 2 in the 12" size and the rest are smaller but they are growing fast. I could never have plants with my other fish, most in the 20-36" size.

It's a nice warm summer night!! Currently 60 degrees!!! Cold snow and icy fog from last week all gone!!! Thank you my warm hot Chinook wind god!!! Chinook is a warm dry wind we get in the middle of winter that comes from down south, I think a Chinook is part of the San Antonio wind, that blows all the way here. :) :) :)

Wow, that sounds wonderful, Colleen! Is my weather blip showing up, or does it just say "posted image" to everyone else, too? It's 40 here right now and supposed to be in the 50's this week. Maybe our "Indian Summer" is gone.
Pulled a few cattails to ship to Larkin, and OMG they were really set in! Maybe the water being pretty chilly had something to do with getting them out, too. LOL Will be sure to get more out in the spring before they start growing and sending babies everywhere. I need to contain them to a specific area. Bet if I put a pot "ring" around them they might stay in one area. Anyone ever do that? I'm talking about sinking the top of my buckets that I use the bottoms of for lily pots. The top would have a handle on it (I'd remove that), but I could push that down on either side of the cattails I want to keep, and maybe the new shoots would stay in that concentrated area. Think it would work, and how far to the bottom would the ring have to go to make sure no runners escaped?

CE, don't worry about that big cat-tail, let it get real big and then Sissy can come give you a hand with her little red tractor and pull it out! Ha ha ha. But seriously, large cattails only do good when "cut Loose", they don't grow well when contained in small container, but a big container could be fine. I would bet that cattail clump is stunning with the cat-kins and long slender leaves blowing gently in the wind.... cut too small and that will read "blow over in the wind" ha ha ha! But! You can cut pieces from around the edges and trim some of the rhizomes back, little at a time, without disturbing the plant too bad.

Yes CE ... your "weather blip" must have got here last night, currently at 50 degrees right now, that's a good 10 degree drop since this morning, think its "sputtering out" ha ha ha!
