Yep. That’s the cost at the one store that carries a well pump here. We need the 4” three wire 230v like for a deep well pump, but it’ll only be 20 odd ft deep. The big box stores have cheaper ones with crappy ratings, I won’t waste my money. I read the reviews. Found red lion pumps online, they have what we need for a bit over $300, but it would have to be shipped.

looked at fergusons sight WOW have pumps gone up in price .I think mine was done in 2010 and it was onsale and got a discount for buying both the pressure tank and pump at the same time and these are only half horse power and looked and I bought my sons pump and tank at the same time

This is the best priced one I found so far. Tried to pull the pump, hit a snag; need more muscle! So step brother will have to lend a hand. If he wants running water, he’s got no choice. It’s not too bad outside right now, above freezing. Came in for a coffee break and to wait on step brother to lend a hand.

I’ll report back in with what’s going on, if it’s just clogged, or what. And if we get a new pump, I’ll post which one we go with since others here are on well water too.

Ha Ha the r - - n has finally stopped! Supposed to have a nice weekend and will prolly see Mr Sun, yay!
On my walk I saw two dead crows laying side by side w/their wings full flared out. Then I get close right over them and I see movement! Then I said oh you guys are doing the hootchy cootchy dance, pardon me for interrupting and they jumped up and flew away. Must be that Spring is on the way

Winter still has firm grip and no sign of spring anywhere in sight. Wishing a nice warm Chinook would blow in and melt everything away! Currently -12 Celsius and no warm weather in sight for weeks!

Pump is a red lion, motor is burnt out. Called their tech support, he told us how to trouble shoot it, that’s how we figured out it’s the motor.

Why do you feel you need a deep well pump .I would think it would push water into your house plumbing at to high a pressure and cause damage to them .I remember in NJ when they replace the outside water lines on my road it was a nightmare they had to put in flow restrictor valves on all the houses .The public water was coming in way to fast for all the houses on my road .All 6 of them

Well, we're in a winter storm watch now for tomorrow night. The system looks to be shifting north and the heaviest part may be right on the edge of where I live. Could see 6" or more, could see 3" or less. 20 miles north or south could make a huge difference.

We are smack in it at this point - calling for 8-12". And if we're gonna have 8, we might as well have 12, right?!
