While we get lots of neon skimmers, this is my first time spotting a blue dragonfly at the pond

Hailstorm today. Will assess damage tomorrow. It was much harder/larger than shown here at some points, dime to slightly bigger than quarter size, but took me a while to get my phone.

Hope not too much damage.

All the storms missing us. Still bone dry. Mowed 3 times this summer...usually I mow weekly.

We've had a really dry year here, too. Although we've finally been seeing some rain lately. The last couple years have been pretty bad.

I bought 3 tubers 2 years ago. They were smaller then my pinky. A year later putting out nice amount of pads. Yeah next year maybe some flowers.

I had two tubers in the hot tub pond that started leaking at 5f degrees. We bought a stock tank, neighbor and I, moved water fish, lilies, snails, tad poles, water. into the stock tank.

The lilies are growing, pads eaten as soon as they hit the surface. I am feeding the fantails. never thought about the anacharis, water willow roots, algae, all gone during the freezing pond save. The fantails were hungry, 10 of them.

Finally pull the lily pots, three pots , 8 tubers, history. The fantails killed them off. Two were my new lilies.

Luckily I put one tuber in the big pond. Today got a beautiful flower from it.

Good you saved that one...................it's a beauty! Now you can make more of them when they need dividing.

And to think a scarecrow has its funny moments when the hail is only big enough to sting like slaming your funny bone. That can be beyond comical
