Late summer in my pond's tenth season.

Not our pond, but a big one, ie the bay.

The black crowned night Heron, sat 10 feet from us and very interested dogs. Did a nice grooming job, as the sun set.

I noticed this morning that the carnivorous sundew in my little bog is blooming.

Oh my that's a pretty one. Happen to know the name? I've never seen that one around here.

It’s a Drosera intermedia, aka spoonleaf or oblong leaved sundew, native to the eastern half of the US. I had a Drosera capillaris too, but it died when the weather got hot.
