Currently the upper garden area looks like a disaster. I had to redo the upper area as the support structure (cheap plastic shelving) was beginning to fail under the weight of the dirt. Got that out and replaced it with steel wire shelving which is rated at 1000 pounds. Don’t know how accurate that is.

Here’s a current photo of the progress as well as a crude drawing of what this area might look like when finished. Current waiting on some steel ledges to form the inner walls to keep the dirt in the bed.

I’m definitely not a carpenter or woodworker and this is probably my first attempt at woodworking. Made this little bridge from a wooden plank I found in the dumpster. Did the rest using wooden dowels. Scorched the wood with a blow torch to give it a more weathered look.

I just really love the colors here. It felt like the sunset and the water lily were in deep conversation together.

The photo is from earlier this spring, when the temperatures were much lower. All winter long, that water lily kept putting up blossoms, but everything was in slow motion. It took forever for a flower to open, and then they stayed open long past sunset. Now that the weather has warmed up the water lilies are all closed up hours before the sun sets.

Got some of the parts I needed today and was able to add back in the soil. Still need additional parts to complete this area.

There are reflective to any light on them. If I go out w/a flashlight they shine!

It's been really smoky outside all day. We've had a lot of smoke this year, but this is the worst. Usually it stays up in the air. It smells horrible outside.
