Beautiful pictures herz! Thats look like it would be a lot of fun to hike around there.

I called the color of my pond, glacier murky, the color you get when you are near a melting glacier.

Wow hertz lots of neat pix and I love those falls! Do they run in the summer too, cuz that would be a nice place to cool off from a hike!

Gorgeous pics! I liked the picture of your evergreen trees bending over. In the middle of the picture, the tree that is bending over, looks like an old person with a cane. Not sure if the "cane" is an icicle or a stick or what. LOL
My favorite pics of the falls were from behind what you called "windows" through the falls. Outstanding photography. Thanks for sharing such beautiful pics!

Wow how neat, thanks so much for sharing with us. We have plants blooming everywhere, 70 here today.

thanks addy, it was a high around 40 today and windy, so back to normal, but starting sat back in the 50s again so that will be nice

Herz,
Is that a new house behind your house?

yeah, they began building it in fall right after the crabapple that used to be there dumped about half its leaves in my yard, so I will be missing the smell of the flowers for a week every spring, but will not have to deal with the leaves anymore. its a really nice house, only downside is they get a view of my yard from their windows, plus side is the only window on that side of the house is the bathroom so I won't have to worry too much. plus the house behind me is for sale so soon I will have two new neighbors

now that you mention it, that is a perfect description for the color that it is

the falls do tend to dry up during the summer, but there is a small land bridge, an old quarry, and a nice little stretch of rocky cliffs, so its pretty cool any time of year

good eye patty, actually that is one of my white pines that I just moved last year, so I still have them staked in. so that is one of the stakes, like i said, that wet snow that sticks to everything! but that is what makes it so cool to see everything the next day, kinda like after an ice storm but with snow instead, one of my favorite times to go look at everything

gosh n ice pics and I loved the natural stream they are always so pretty .We want to open the stream up at the other house and direct the 2 natural springs we found on the property after a lot of the trees were taken down .I'm surprised it got cold enough there for all that frozen parts of the waterfall .But spring is here for sure .Very true about the crabapple trees the blossoms smell so great and the deer here just love the crabapples in the winter .

thanks sissy, yeah this was a mild winter by our usual standards, but the waterfalls usually always freeze. in fact enough that people will go ice climbing up them. haven't done that yet, but I know my brother has and at other places around the state, will have to try it with him sometime. pretty sure he's roped in all the time though :) at least that is the only way I would do it

Hertz, The waterfall pics were amazing. Thank you for sharing. I was up in Madison on the 2nd looking at UW with my daughter. It got 5" of snow when we were there and driving was horrible. By the time we got back to Chicago there was no snow here at all.

Keith,
The snow melted probably a couple of days later, not sure how much is left on the waterfall since I haven't been out there in a week, but assuming can't be too much with all the warm weather we have had and will have. I almost went to Madison, but ended up at UWGB instead, but I do have a friend whose brothers went there and loved it.

Hertz, I went to UW-Madison back in the 70's. I spent a lot of time there playing chess in the Memorial Union. It was fun going back with our daughter to visit, but she is also accepted into the Engineering Dept at Illinois and that is her parents first choice!

In state tuition and fees not including room and board is $19,800 and out of state at UW $26,000 so not that big of a difference, but it still adds up. Actually we are 15-20 minutes closer to UW because we are north of Chicago. Herz, Get ready for some warm weather tomorrow. It is going to be in the mid to upper 70's. My fish were pretty active today. How are yours doing?

I'm heading up to your neck of the woods tomorrow, Keith! Going to some Garden and Flower Show by Navy Pier tomorrow. I've heard good and bad about it! Some said it was all really fancy stuff, for multi million dollar homes' yards, and others said it was also nice pretty things to get lots of ideas from. I'm looking for getting lots of ideas. :)
