Maybe get Queen Liz or one of the lesser royals to do the bottle-smashing! Add a nice touch to the ceremony!!

Hello john and one and all, took the slow lane today, a bit early for bubbly, got bits and pieces done, such as concreted inside and outside filter/sieve filter bay housing plus laid four of six paving slabs.
Started laying footings with left over concrete.
Tomorrow will finish footings then start blockwork again.
Almost on the home run, still weather set to stay hot all next week.
Want to finish plant chambers first , then pond.

ok ok..........bio balls pay back ...aye... john........... my chamber pots dont have handles

need to do chambers next to get the measurements correct [ water lillies trays 600 x lenght and plants tray 300 x lenght ] so may have to over lap slabs by 50mm to get it to fit, as cannot move main pond wall forward..see photo.
Will make middle and plant walls 100mm and pond wall 215mm as no pressure inside chambers and it allows excess, to walkway for maintance to water wheel, sieve or chambers.
Going to make inside filters as [ first filter ] brushes, foam, alfarag [ second filter ] moving bed filter with k1 media with plants chamber containing watercress etc.
Hopefully should be able to control most water conditions, time will tell.

You got some slick ideas whiskey and low maintenance ideas on how to care for those plants w/ drains and all! What a set up! Now just hope you can use the water to fill them up and don't get in trouble w/ the city.

Hi lots been going on , although had a few days taking it easy, to take stock and rubberise parts for sieve and skimmer.

Very please with rubber paint, two coats seal fine, going to try it on water wheel housing, as its completely aqua safe.

Will be laying base for water wheel tomorrow plus some more brick or block work, really starting to take shape now.

Many thanks to koilady and goforit [wife and son ] in moving all the blocks for me, with out their help, im lost for words, its simple things i youst to do, that

cannot do, that make the difference, of what i can complete for us all in the long run.

Looking fantastic, Whiskey! That's a huge stack of blocks yet. Wow. It's great to have people help with the moving around part. Sometimes that's the hardest, other times it's the tedious parts like the mortar between all those blocks! You must have a ton of patience. I envy you. Keep up the good work!

Remind me, Whiskey. Are you going to use a liner on the inside, or will you just be depending on the rubberized paint to seal the blocks? I don't mean to sound stupid, but I really have no idea if the blocks could seal out the water or not.

JOHN

Where are they going?
Dont you know?
Is it a new style BOTTOM DRAIN........................................HE HE

country escape

going to test it out on water wheel housing bay first , it should work, if it does, will try it on top pond, but main pond, rubber liner because of bottom drain

WATERBUG

The first tin i purchased was £16.99 for just 750ml and was called PLASTI DIP there web site www.plastidip.co.uk you can brush it ,spray it or even dip it.
The results were to be recommended, this is aqua safe and is solvent based.

The second tin i purchased came from .....make sure you type it correctly www.5playleisure.co.uk this product is solvent free and spreads very easy, brush it on and the results are also very good, if i had to choose, price wise £29.99 FOR 5 LITRES, £49.95 FOR 11 LITRES AND £89.95 FOR 25 LITRES., SO YOU GET MORE FOR YOUR MONEY.
On both tests i gave both products three coats......skimmer.......sieve, both will have lots of water passing through each unit.
Will keep you and forum up dated
