I'm getting anxious and excited whiskey seeing you are getting closer to the finish line. How much longer ya think it will be before you can put the liner and the water in there? Huh, huh, huh?

It will be awhile yet , window glass £285, liner and under lay £250.

All to be saved from pension and part time work, 20/22 weeks maybe. [ july-aug ]

This build is exspensive not just a liner placed in a whole, and call it a pond, not that im knocking those that choose this way, ive had many a happy hour making mine that way, but due to window, im forced to build up in blocks or brickwork to get a veiwing window,

Got to dismantle top pond [water fall ] tomorrow, as this will be the new site for trickle tower, would of liked it on right of wheel, but flow would be too strong for plants, but this will add flow to water cascade return to main pond.

Hoping to get out tomorrow, dam weather holding me and getting me down, but not beaten.

Great work, Whiskey! It's really coming along, and you have put in so much hard work on your blockwork, which is really neat and clean! I'm wondering who could pick up that load of sand?! I've never seen it in a bag like that, and assume they had some type of a machine to left it off the truck into your shed? With this handles it looks like 4 men could lift it, but I beg to differ! I forget how many pounds you said it was, but that's just a really neat way to deliver it.
So, if your pond gets done in July or so, will you be allowed to fill it or will the ban affect you? I know you said you can fill and do water changes after the ban, but I guess I thought you were going to have the water in before the ban went into effect. Guess you have that worked out, though ...

Home depot will load sand in bags like that for you. We got a few in arizona, used our forklift to move them around. They are heavy!

OK, I have to ask, the sand bag has handles. Do you move it with the handles, or are they on a skid, and the handles are simply used to hold the bag open while it's being filled? Sorry for such a dumb question, and I'm assuming the bag is on a skid...

Beware that rainwater off your roof comes with; petroleum distillates from some roofing materials and all the other pollutants that are deposited by prevailing winds. At any time, a threat may be lurking on your roof waiting for the next rain.
To me the few dollars saved in water is not worth risking the health of my Koi.

These are 1/3 yard bags, so the weight of the sand is about 1000 Lbs. You cannot move it without a fork lift or similar machine. Hence the handles are useless unless you have the proper equipment. When you goto Home Depot to get sand, they offer to dump it into your truck bed by holding over your truck with a fork lift and opening the bottom of the bag. This saves you from paying a deposit for a bag that is not manageable when you get it home.

Well, I be! Around here, they just use a skid steer and dump it by the scoopful into the bed of your truck. Then you have to shovel it off when you get home. Never saw these handy dandy bags, but the only use for them I can see is for people that don't like to use their truck for a truck. LOL My truck gets used like a truck, thank you very much! I would not want to dig the sand out of the bag when I got it home, unless they delivered it and put that bag in your back yard for you! Thanks for informing me, Dr. Dave. :)
