ok...loverly warm day today and got lots done, built up left wall to total height except top pond [last bit] had to cut blocks to suit height but now correct as it ever will be, now ive got a level to continue accross pond at top.
Will need another 190 blocks to finish pond approx. [ right wall 96--32for corners---rest of top walling/wheel/plant pods 62 ] plus sand and cement, oh well dig deep into the purse strings.

Look at it this way, Whiskey. You reused all the blocks from your original pond, so you didn't have to buy them, just had to remove and clean and relay them! So, you saved yourself lots of money by using labor instead. It's looking fantastic! I agree with JW, can really see it coming together.

Hi im lighter now by several pounds [***-**] got 190 blocks 10 cement 1 ton of building sand......work it out for your selves, plus to add salt to the wound, we have a water ban coming starts on april 6th.......£1000.00 pounds if caught and i have a water meter so they will know if i use lots of excess water................so im gutted to say the least.
Today i started on my sieve unit as weather too cold out side for blockwork still got bit to cover but photos show 4" intake/inlet from bottom drain , water to drop through sieve and waste to run to filter tray with excess to return via rear of filter into last chamber and pumped to filters etc.

That sucks, maybe you can get some water into before the ban starts. That is looking so good.

Whiskey you just have to all stop bathing or doing dishes etc. All water goes to pond project! Get rain barrels and start filling before the ban starts. Water hoarding!

What? Water ban in the almighty United Kingdom as of April 6th, 2012? No way!

The water ban had been a fact of life in United Kingdom's Hong Kong during 1960. The British Subjects had used thousands of buckets to store up water to substain lives. I kid you not; look at the picture below.

Johnny its a hose pipe ban , which means no one, can use one, for watering lawn, washing cars or filling ponds, even for 10% water changes.

we are metered so could bucket it out but try telling a police you used a bucket to fill your pond, all 4650 gallons of it,......[smile] thats a 5 gallon bucket and you filled it 930 times constantly for all day.........right.....he he.

just being can............. did.

Whiskey why can't you collect the rain water by putting something on your roof to send the water tumbling to your pond? You are Mr Handy w/ a hammer etc. so you could figure something out.

I use water from our gutters to help with water changes, are summers have been so hot and dry recently, I don't want to stress out the well. So far no healthy issues seen with fish or plants, been doing this since the pond was built.

thanks for comments .....going to plumb in small tank +ball cock, together with extended arm on it, the float on it will extend into the pond. little by little i will fill. once water is in pond with fish there is nothing they can do , watering is allowed for fish safety, so is water changes but if system is plumbed, then technical your not using a hose pipe .........GOT THIS OFF A KOI SITE IN UK.

Wow, great idea! And you are so ingenious, you will get it done with quality workmanship as well. I'm sure glad to hear it, as I was afraid all that hard work went for nothing. That would have been devastating to say the least!
