Well 3 hours after he went in, I played phone tag trying to find him and talk to anyone with info. He just updated me, before his nurse could. Apparently he was seriously blocked got a stint, should be out tomorrow.

Gosh glad they did that for him. Now he can come home and recoup!
You can be his nurse now and wait on him hand and foot :)

Watching it snow! Another 5ish inches, beautiful stick to everything snow, still pretty dark out. They say we have 2 more storms rolling in, but less snow in them.

SmartSelect_20210211-064548.jpg

Almost filled the dumpster, 20 yards sucker is big! , yesterday, we did hit 37, today going to work on ventilation boxes for the bees. Got them all cut to size, holes drilled yesterday today adding the screening etc.
Fed the bees again, yesterday, three hives are huge and inhaling the sugar blocks.

When they took the first one we filled they brought out another, the pic is the first one when it got here. They gave us three weeks to fill it with the storms that are rolling through, and will add another week if we need it.

Then we order another and start filling from hubbies pole barn that was filled the day it was finished with his cars. And now some junk. And we are having the back wall of the garage removed part of the roof, we have a edge roof leak. The workers are coming back on the 15 of March, after the solar panels are removed to start on that project. Adding a dormer at the same time on the back half of the garage. Hubbies wish, not sure why but why not. We don't invite anybody to live in our house with us.

Im back down in the city to pick up dad. As if the 2+ hour drive wasn’t enough time, they are still waiting on the paperwork to release him. It’s snowing, not much ice, but tomorrow and over the weekend we are expecting two waves of storms to drop up to 20 inches on us. I’ll be surprised to see 10, but the windchill will mean a house full of puppies, all the bigger animals wanting in, and then arguing over who gets to lay where!

Made it home safe, I’ve gone over dads meds, made sure he knows when to take them. 4 are once a day typically in the morning, 1 is twice a day. So he will get 5 pills with breakfast every day.
Forecast isn’t good, they are saying expect a week of below freezing temps, 6-20 inches of snow, they can’t say for sure just how much each area will get, just expect a min of 6, max of 20. Pets will come in if needed, but mostly the critters are staying out. The cats fight each other, the boys spray, but we will deal with it if it gets too cold. Puppies aren’t house broke, and the dogs are used to running as they wish, and get into trouble when they are all inside. So I expect they will be in and out as needed. We will be watching.
The weather men are saying hunker down at home, don’t go out unless you have to, I figure most will ignore that in favor of earning a wage.

Ours should start tonight, mostly too cold for it to be sticky, the weather man is warning of drifts, wind blown snow causing blizzard like conditions. So I’m trying to type, and me cat said no, I need to hold him. He’s no little kitten, but he tried to curl up in my hand. Ignore my just up look, I’m on my first cup of coffee! I couldn’t resist sharing him.

I have to hit the store today, to be sure we are well stocked with people and animal (indoor cat and outdoor bird) supplies. It’s not bad now, maybe 26 F, but they are predicting some snow, but mostly icy stuff for our area over the weekend. Ice is never welcome, but especially not here in the South where folks don’t understand that you have to change your driving habits, or don’t drive at all when there’s ice on the roads. But our biggest problems with the ice will be massive power outages!

We have a huge old oak tree in our backyard. I am currently waiting to hear back from a tree service (supposed to come sometime this week) to see about having parts of it trimmed up as it has a lot of old, asymmetrical growth that I am afraid will break off and severely damage the tree. Fortunately, it’s not in a place that will cause any property property damage or hit power lines, but I really don’t want to lose the tree!

My hubby stayed at work Wednesday night because of forecast. We got nothing. He came home last night, forecast was dusting to 1 inch. 4am we had 4 1/2" of snow and it was still coming down. He was able to get up the driveway after shoveling. Me and the cats are watching it all melt.

I’m researching livestock and plotting how to make our land more sustainable. Food and medical plants, a few head of smaller breed of cattle, rabbits, chickens, guinnies, but first we’ve got to have money to clear up the debris, build suitable coops, huts, fix part of the barn, fencing, and all the other stuff we need before we can even buy the animals. But I’m researching, learning what I can so I know what we will need.

Off to town before it gets bad, got to stock up the few things we will need this next week. Dog food, another gallon of milk, puppy pads since they are poop machines, all that Jazz.
