Poison ivy doesn't seem to bother me. I could roll around in that stuff and not get it. I've actually picked a handful of it before and rubbed it on my arm and got nothing. Weird

same with my hubby, he has never gotten it.

Good to hear your better Addy! How painful was that? Did it ich right away? I think I may have had that as a kid, got it at Elkwater many many years ago! Just remember for next time.... Leaves in Three??? DON'T Touch ME!!! :) :) :)

My arm and legs are still red but the cellulites is going away. It breaks out usually the next day or 6 some hours later. Itches, hurts, blisters all over, hot, bad cellulites reaction that makes you just feel bad as your body fights it. I started with one small spot on my arm by friday I was covered with it. I never touch the stuff, I know where every patch is. The only thing I can think happened is the grass clippings blew onto the ivy and bounced back on me, hit my left arm and landed on my legs. That urushiol (ivy oil) is nasty, the amount that would fit on a pin head can make 500 people itch.

When I was a kid, my dad was helping build the community swimming pool, my sister and I rolled down a hill, well it was covered with ivy, we had it on every inch of our body. I can remember baths of oat meal and pain. They say once exposed you get it worse and worse, so my first exposure was bad now it takes almost nothing for me to get it.

That stuff sounds horrible to me addy and I wouldn't know it if I saw it here. I'm sure it's around somewhere but I've just never came in contact w/ it and sure don't want to. I hope you recover quickly now so you can get back to enjoying the last of the nice weather.
Kinda cloudy here today and only in the 50's right now. Sure hoping it doesn't rain for the fair next week when we go.

And, some people are not allergic to ivy, but are to poison sumac, poison oak. Ivy has 3 leaves, like Addy pointed out, and on the ground type also tends to have a red stem. The leaf usually had kind of a notch on one side, too. I got into something when I was a teenager, sat down on it, and got this black tar looking stuff on me. So, you know what I did ... yep, I tried to rub it off. I think that was maybe sumac.
Often they say once you have had poison really bad, you never get it again! I've never had that again, but then maybe I've never been exposed to it. I had to get a presnisone shot to get rid of it.
I know what you mean about the blisters. I've never had them, but a friend did, and OMG, those blisters would ooze all day long, every hour she had to replace the thick pads as they would be soaked through and leaking down her leg. It's awful! I really feel bad for you. And, to have it growing in your trees and honeysuckle vines is awful, no way to get rid of it.
It got to 90's today, tomorrow more of the same. Got home, house was 88, turned on AC, but have had it off for the last 2 weeks or so, thus I didn't mind. Will be able to shut it off again on Sunday, as showers are predicted and only 87 for a high. I can live with that, long as evenings get down below about 68 I'm fine. Usually outside all day, so don't mind if it's hot in the house.

Freezing cold and raining, wore long shirt with sweater and jacket with hood, forgot gloves, hands were cold, at river today with puppies. Right now it's barely 55 degrees and no sun at all. Did find some nice "road kill corn" to eat that fell off the farmers truck today. The hot days last week and cold nights makes the corn sweeter, going to have "road kill" for supper tonight! :) :) :)

It was sunny and 93* here today. Might cool down next week but have had the AC on for about a week. I weld all day so the last thing I want to come home too is a hot house. Plus the daycare kids get cranky when it's hot in the house. Starting to feel a little bit better today. I don't remember a summer being this sick in a long time.

JW, my sister and her husband from WI are visiting our brother and his wife near Seattle (is it Puget Sound, across on the barge thingy?) this weekend! I should tell them to come by your house and say hello. LOL I swear, when I come visit my brother next time, I AM going to come visit you!
I hope you're feeling better, Brandonsdad! What's up? Do you have one of those nasty summer colds?

Good plan with the replacing parts on your Cpap machine! Sounds like you may have been keeping that virus alive all this time. Good luck, summer colds, sinus infections, anything remotely similar is awful in the summertime! I hope you feel better soon.

Hey Brandon, you may not have a cold at all, when I was in my late twenty's I developed the same sort of thing, non stop cold all summer that would not go away, found out I was asthmatic, due to allergies, never used any inhaler or other meds cause they made my heart race and I dislike meds, found good old coffee was best, also discovered milk made me sick but not heavy cream. (Lactose in milk only) You may be getting allergies to something and not know it, allergies and asthma symptoms very much the same, but now after many years I can tell the difference. Hope you feel better soon!!!

Must be you are spending to much time ponding and on here so we will call it the garden pond diet .We had rain last night and have to try and finishing pulling stray weeds .All done with the rest of the yard work and finally the guy called and said he has my stock tanks so supposed to be 85 degrees again today so gonna see if I can pick them up .I hope 2 feet will be deep enough for the filter ,it is 2 feet deep by 3 feet wide by 4 feet long and figure that will give me plenty of room to put plants in the top to help clean the water .Said it is for goat farmers and llama's and such .
