I sitting here by the pond, got small fire going, typing away, company just left, (picture of company) weather real warm, still over 80 degrees and it's close to midnight! Got some of my "fall toys out" and hung them by the pond, I know, I'm always a little early, but what the heck, by the time October gets here it will be cold, could have snow on ground and pond may be froze by then! So I going to play with my fall stuff early cause I want too, so there!!! I must have been deprived of Halloween as a child.....

You have really neat stuff, and oh how sweet the little girl sleeping under all your wicked supplies. I never was much on decorating for holidays, but LOVE to view others creations. You obviously have a LOT of stuff for Halloween! Thanks for sharing the pics. :)

You have the coolest fall toys Colleen! We used to do all that wild stuff too but got out of the habit when we moved out here and the kids grew up. I'm gonna enjoy looking at your stuff this year!
This will be our last dry day for the week as rain moves in tomorrow.

Went to the fair yesterday and was a beautiful sunny day. Had lots of fun, ate too much, saw lots of animals, big hogs w/ tiny babies, cows, cats, dancing dogs (that was cool) etc. and a funny comedy guy on stage. Wish I would have brought my camera as they had a museum there w/ a big working water wheel.

Well I managed to find a photo of the water wheel on line from the 2010 fair:
This water wheel is affixed on the side of the Western Heritage Center Interactive Museum to show how water was used to power machines that ground corn and other operations.

Here's the comedy guy from Seattle that was there:

Oh, my, JW, I love those little piglets! Almost all of them have the white band around their belly. I'm sure that is some breed, but they remind me of the Belted Galloway cows, black with white band around their bellies, too! At our STate Fair, they always have the "pig shed" where they have around 6 sows pigging, there is usually at least one that is having pigs each day. You can come in and watch them have their babies, but you have toe be VERY quiet if they are pigging when you are in there. The cages around the sows is to keep them laying down so they don't roll over on to the piglets, or the piglets can get away. Really neat and educational, especially for people who have never seen an animal giving birth!

Yep CE those piglets were darling and was fun to watch them play. No pigs were giving birth that day but they had some cows that were due soon. They had a video up of a cow giving birth. People gathered around the mama pigs in the metal cage deals were discussing why they must be in one of those. Somebody did say that it was to protect the babies. Somebody made a mint on that idea! Course we had to watch the pig races too

WARNING: Isaac, I took pics of my house and property, including the barns. So, no damage gets done on this land, ok? :) Starting light drizzle here, but according to weather I looked at last night, wasn't supposed to start until 6 p.m. Is that good or bad? Get it done and over with sooner, is good, last longer than expected, bad. I had to add an inch or so to my koi pond last night to keep the skimmer running, and this morning it was sucking air. Must have a leak somewhere, darn it! Shut it off for the day, I'm sure will be able to turn it back on tonight, though.

CountryEscape, our rain started here last night and has been a slow rain. Raining this morning and most likely will be all day. My pond still looks good. I went out this morning and dipped a few buckets of water out of it. I am just glad were not having gulley washers. No storming thank goodness :) Fed my fish in the rain this morning and they were happy as can be.

Gonna have sun here all week and all of next week and for who knows how long. We did get some rain one night but by the time I got up it just looked a bit damp and all is dirty, dry and dusty here again. When I mowed the weeds................grass is all brown and dried up, but the weeds still thrive.............I came in the house after mowing and all the exposed parts of me were covered w/ dry, dark, yucky dirt. My DH laughed at me and said to go look at my face in the mirror. I looked like a raccoon
Gosh I love this weather
