I edge nothing and no weed wacking, it just grows back. Whatever can be mowed is mowed ow it is left alone.

88 here, heat index of 98, next week low 80's all week.

66F today. Warm and sunny in the shade, cool in the shade. I'm preparing to switch to Fall foods for my fish though I wish I could fatten them up more before Winter. My 3 newest fish only has only been with me for about a month and don't seem to have gained much weight.

The ponding season seems to be very short this year. Not even sure how long my biofilters were fully active, maybe only 2 months at the most? But I'm looking forward to tweaking them for next season.

I'm still fattening mine up for the winter w/ the Summer food since the daytime heat is coming back.

That reminds me to check the water temp. The water is always quite a bit colder than the air. I'll probably mix my regular food with Fall food for a while before completely switching to Fall food.

I do not feed the fish too much this time of the year. I never fed them today cause they did not look too hungry and were content to eating pond greens instead. Soon I will not feed them at all, they will have to forage for food and eat the greens, which are easy to digest going into fall, It could snow in September here, it has before, and we have had hard frost many past Septembers. I am hoping that summer will stay till at least the end of October, then just a little fall and no winter... like that would ever happen here!!!

TBendi is being mean :( and reminding me how "nice it is there"!! Maybe I could throw her some snow and ice!! Shouldn't she be getting ready for some hurricane or something while I get ready to "freeze to death"!! :smug: ha ha ha

Hahaha yeah fair enough, we are in the middle of hurricane season. When I lived in Hawaii we used to go up to Mauna Kea in the winter, fill the hubbies truck with snow then go to the beach and have snowball fights.
To be fair, when you are having lovely summer weather next year I'll be dying in 95+ degree weather down here so you can return the "neiner neiner's" then. :woot:

88 F, Humidex 106! Where was this weather in JULY??? I've only had maybe 8 or 10 flowers on my waterlillies (two plants), and the water hyacinths were a total waste of money this year! ONE lousy blossom, and then they all turned brown. Put them in a tub with fertilizer, but no improvement at all. (n)
