What about my Red Banana's I planted? It is suposed to get near freezing next week! Maybe I can let the tops freeze off and dig out the bulbs? Anybody know? I can't bear to lose them or the yellow tropical blooming tree. Maybe I can dig it out and put in greenhouse cause my mother really loves it. Then there is the Black Taro... will let tops freeze lightly and save bulb and see show that goes.

@HARO John, this is a little off topic, but my arrowheads have all but turned brown and died off. Is this normal for early September? How are yours doing?

Paul
Don't have any in my own pond, but the ones at the garden centre have all turned brown. Early fall this year!

Colleen, I would say figure out a way to bring it inside. The only problem is that our climate has such dry relative humidity in the winter.
Look it up the requirements on the internet for that banana plant.
My wife bought a zone 4 peony this year that wasn't cheap, so I think I'm going to try to bring it inside, along with the pond lily.
Maybe I'll put the pond lily in the aquaponics system.
I'm also bringing inside our worm composter. I think the worms come from the southern states somewhere. Red wigglers, I think.
Citrus trees are coming inside too.
