Our outdoor composters freeze solid here, so we are going to try indoor worm composting again.
We've been unsuccessful in the past, sometimes it turns into a smelly mess.
More diligence needed!
:yuck:

Gorgeous day here today. Too bad I spent most of it driving around gathering up material for stuff that needs to get done before winter.

Mine sit in the spare bathtub, summer and winter, in a tub. To many bugs get into it when it is outside. So far they have made a nice amount of ewc. Nice to be able to toss excess veggies into it.

This is the composter if anyone is interested, lol

I put shredded paper on the top layer every now and then.

earth worm compost, makes a great additive for soil for plants

Mine is similar, but a double tub and a lid. They like to hide under paper cardboard like to eat in the dark And love it wet! I always wet the paper and cardboard when I add it.

Today's temperature to be 25C/77F, and tomorrow we're supposed to get 5 cm/2 inches of snow.
Intense cold front coming through and a killing frost later this week. -5C/23F.
Good thing I never took off the snow tires.

I take the shredded paper from the office home from time to time and add it to my composter...I just changed out tubs yesterday and there were lots of worms...which is great to break up our hard TN clay soil.

Always wanted to have a worm composter but pretty sure my hubby would not like it if I tried to bring a tub full of worms into the house. :) He does not share my love of gardening and ponds.
Fantastic weather here today. Sunny and high getting to 77F.

It's hot and humid here...went out to pull weeds (which were quickly winning the battle) for about 30 minutes and came back in a dripping mess! Hubs helped me out and so I think we have the edge on them now...need to order a truckload of mulch and get things under control for the fall.

yep got hot here also and working in full sun is no fun .But cherry tree is planted and well watered in and garden partially dug now time for a cold drink of almond milk .One thing I love best is when you see a freshly mulched garden ,it all looks so new then
