Supposed to be 101 here today and I woke up to our central air out...It's gonna be a long day.
Oh man, that's awful, Neo! Hope you got it fixed today.
I'm with you all, the first thing I look at when I sign on is if Sissy has responded to any of the threads I'm following. This is getting VERY scary. I'm the type to always have a positive attitude, but this time I have a really bad feeling. No way would she have gone away and not told us, in at least one of the threads, and if her electricity was out, she would have gone somewhere there WAS electricity and gotten on-line. I'm really concerned something has happened to her and she's in a hospital somewhere. OK, there I said it. I know others have thought the same thing. Wonder if there is ANYONE that we can call to find out about her? I feel so helpless ... but now we know how many friends we all have, and how many will be worried if one of us drops off the map for a while. So ... take note everyone ... call your credit card company if you're going to be gone, and post on GPF so we know! :)

Thanks, I actually did get it fixed by mid-day right as the sun was getting to the hot side of the house so it wasn't as bad as expected. Stines Heating & Cooling are great! I called them at 7:30 am because they were the only ones who would answer that early and they came out same day and it didn't cost a fortune.

Another 100 degree'er today but luckily starting Sun. we will be getting a break with some rain chances and temps in the upper 80's to around 90. I can't wait to go enjoy my backyard and pond again!

Man Neo that's good that you got your system fixed but those 100* temps would kill me. We don't have AC here and my body is programmed for in the 70's and when it gets in the 80's it's a treat but above that I start to melt. After 80's it Africa HOT

Funny story, two years ago I built my bar in my basement over the winter months, and summer came around and when i turned on the air conditioning, went to work, get home from work... and nothing... my house is 88 degrees. So I think to myself, crap, central air is broken, and i shut it back off and said well i guess i'll look at it this weekend.

SO we spent all week roasting our butts off, and on friday my parents said they had a window air conditioner I could borrow if I couldn't get the central air working. So I haul it home, walk in the front door and realize this window air conditioner will fit in none of the windows in my house, cept the bedrooms, and the air isnt going to really travel anywhere throughout the house if its in the bedrooms, I need to fix this central air RIGHT NOW.

So I walk outside, stare at the air conditioner for a bit (like thats going to do me any good:)) walk inside, turn it back on, and walk down to the basement, somehow, during my bar build, I had managed to knock the acess panel off of the area right above the evaporator downstairs, and all of my nice cool air was pouring into my basement.

I felt pretty stupid that i hadnt taken the time earlier in the week to walk downstairs and figure that out, but i assumed it was going to take some time, and figured i would have to wait for the weekend before i could get around to fixing it.

nope but not a fake but all we had was cell phone service and parts of Danville were down also .Century link has been out here working on the phone lines but I think they just make it worse .The phone wires and boxes out this way have not been reworked since 1990 and they just keep adding to the old wiring instead of replacing it and saving themselves some money in the long run .They had to replace the box and the beginning of the road here as lightening hit it and then a tree fell on it and finished it off .Then they crossed all the wires some how or did something wrong and phones got worse .I tried the laptop but it was hard to stay connected so gave up .Then we had several high wind and lightening storms on top of it and no rain ,just want some rain .Well pump had to be replaced again as something went wrong with the one they put in .

Oh so your phones were down and not your electricity. Well that's good you did not lose power cuz at least you have your AC. We were all worried that you got heat stroke or something and might be in the hospital getting an IV of tequila or rum and cokes, lol!
