OMG, KoiGuy, if you walked 2 miles AND pushed the mowing ... I'm impressed! I sure could not do that, and I feel like I'm in really good shape for a 54 year old woman. LOL There is no way I could push even my small front yard, I think I would have heat stroke!
OK, did a test. Put my inside thermometer outside on the same side of the house as my in/out thermometer. The in/out is up under the soffit, so about 12' high, under the edge of the roof, so in the shade, but higher, so it's hotter, I found out. That one is reading 113 right now, and the indoor thermometer got up to 100 after being out there for about 20 minutes. So .... my in/out thermometer reads high. It's still hot, though. LOL

Well, then I'm extra impressed, KG!!! Glad you don't smoke much, although I know it is very hard to quit. My parents both smoked more than 30 years, and then quit. None of their 6 kids (me included) smoked, which I think is really unusual.
I'm heading to the garden center for a load of sand, hoping for cooler temps tomorrow maybe can finish my sidewalk expansion. Also get to look around for something pretty for my best friend who is turning 50 today. She loves plants, would love to get her some type of water feature plant, but she doesn't have a water feather. LOL Maybe when she and her fiance' get married and buy a bigger house, THEN she can think of that.

Haha, Shoestring, yeah, the Arch could just melt in this heat. Wonder if they are able to keep it cool all the way up there in these temps we are having. No wonder it costs so much to go up there!

I am now 59 today and have been a vegetarian all my life and never smoked and I still can keep up .I know most of my neighbors always ask me how do you do it and I say what choice do i have and it keeps me going and gives me something to do .I did not want to just sit around and have traveled a lot before retirement so now it is time to get back to the simple life and enjoy my time here on earth instead of the hectic world out there .

Ugh..that's how it's been here lately also until Tonight. It's probably in the upper 70's here right now and I want to sit by the pond so bad but the lightning is way too bad, our power has been flashing now and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't go out but the rain is needed.

Lucky you, Neo! I saw lightening around me this evening, but rain here is predicted after 1 a.m. I'd almost stay up to see the show, if I knew it was for sure going to rain here, but I'll go to bed and let it rain if it decides to. I sure hope so! Praying is all we can do ... and I've been doing my share lately. :)
Sissy, you have led a very healthy life and it shows! People ask me how I keep doing so many things, and for some reason this heat just really zapped me. Maybe it was my outdoor thermometer reading about 10 degrees hotter than it actually was that worked on my brain, but I sure didn't have the energy to do anything outside the last 2 weeks in the triple digits. I'll be back out there as soon as it gets back "down" to the 90's though. Got a load of sand to unload and sidewalk to finish.
Oh, and Sissy, did you mean literally that you are 59 today? If so, Happy Birthday! :)

What a gorgeous day here again today. In the 70's or low 80's, not sure cuz I never saw the temp anywhere as we went for a 55 mile bicycle ride round trip to celebrate my kidney stone that was shown as a 7mm on the xray a few wks ago and now shows on a new xray that it has disappeared and doc has no idea what happened to it. No pain and didn't pass it so maybe God zapped it away. Just got home awhile ago at 7:30pm from the ride. Beautiful ride but of course DH said after we got about 5 miles from home......"Did you bring your camera?" and of course I forgot again! We saw mountains all around us w/ snow on them so close we could almost reach out and touch them. Pretty rivers and creeks and green meadows so green from all the previous rains we have had. We are dead tired now and going to collapse on the couch w/ a tall lemonade now!

Well tonight the grass is cut, watered the whole yard cause it's supposed to get even hotter. Right now it's 76 degrees, 1 am and there is non stop lightning to the south west, and now I can hear the thunder. Wind right now is calm, can see moon but it's hazy, sitting out on deck under this big square red umbrella on my little table chair set, watching the storm roll in. Thunder growing louder, Poppy will need me soon, hope I don't disappear like Sissy did! :) :) :)
