JW, Just run the net down there and scoop it all out. I take the net every day and scoop off the bottom of the "bottom pond" where everything collects. Waiting for darn Catapillers to quit making mess, maybe tomorrow I will get picture of little Catapiller so you can see what they look like.
I am outside in the dark, by my campfire right now, and I hear the sounds of stuff falling from the trees onto the roof of Gazbo, soon they will caccoon and be gone into next cycle of their little lives.

Weather is beautiful tonight, about 60 degrees right now. The big moon quietly passed over over my house a few minutes ago, now little cloud in the way. Somebody slammed there door a couple houses down, and the traffic on the busy avenue is down to a dull roar now. The wind whistled up in the trees just now, I can hear the branches sway and my chimes are ringing and the fire is slowly dying out, time to rest my tired head....

Weather has been beautiful, sunny low humidity, now un-settled weather for the next week, i.e. rain.

While mowing yesterday, something stung my hand, now all swollen, itches painful. No stinger left in so I know it was not one of our dear sweet bees ..................

Ouch addy, something is always getting you and making you miserable. I think you may need a suit of armor to protect your sensitive skin from the great outdoors :vamp:
You could just wear you bee suit all the time :astronaut:

Weather nice today but showers are coming :grumpy:

Storm is passing over house, so far just a little rain and lots of thunder and lighting. I wanted to unload the stuff I just spend 300 dollars on, new hole post maker, more colored wood chips, more solar lights, expensive red glossy stain for inside of fence, plain stain for other side... Now rain is coming down hard, darn forgot to get the eves troughs down, must run outside and do that right now....

Got a perfect rain on Sat., total of an inch, and never rained super hard or blew hard, just nice showers on and off. Little turtle still in my koi pond. What a hoot he is, trying to compete with the fish! Yesterday afternoon, (keep in mind I feed koi in the a.m., NEVER in the afternoon, so they seldom even come to the surface in the p.m.) the turtle saw me and came swimming to the feeding side. So, I tossed his a few pieces of food. Lo and behold, here come the koi! I laughed and laughed, cause that little turtle (he's about 4" long, painted turtle) went after the same piece of food Shamu was going after, and the turtle literally nipped Shamu's mouth! He let go immediately, and Shamu came right back, neither were after the other, it just happened by accident, but so funny! Oh, well maybe the turtle did it on purpose, but he sure wasn't afraid of the fish, nor Shamu of him. Shamu is about 16" long.
Beautiful day today, only 78 for a high, very low humidity, down to 60 tonight, but I heard 1-2" of rain expected in the next 24-48 hours. That's fine with me, as this time of year as long as it's not muddy, I'll take all the rain I can get. Of course, farmers would like a solid week of no rain predicted so they could mow their hay ....

The expensive red stain I put on my fence last night is still not dry.... maybe I should have gotton the cheap stuff, but will wait till sun shines on it and then do a second coat.
Catapillers are out and about, they can be found everywhere now, and my best friends kid is playing with them like I used to when I was a little girl...

Poor crawlies, I pick them up off the road and give them a toss so they don't get squished by the cars while I'm out walking. Played w/ bugs too when a kid. Never had bro's or sis's.

Not very nice today only in the mid 50's and cloudy and gray. Darn I just looked out there and looks like drizzle. My cat is making funny jittery noises looking out the window at a crow putting bread into the bird bath. Guess he is softening it up............those birds are smarty pants!

Love watching crows and even the grackles I have are smart birds. Friends sister found a baby grackle, had fallen out of nest, very small baby, she raised it! Now, she calls it Tweet, and it flies from yard to yard, following her, and lands on people's shoulder to go for a walk. Hilarious! He makes baby bird "feed me" squaks when it wants some free food, but it's out in the wild, and still comes around. I think that's sooooo cool!
On the caterpillar issue, when I lived in AZ, was in kindergarten, there were millions of those things on the roads that year and on the side of buildings. They were dangerous, people having accidents from the squished bodies on the road! I tried to save a bunch, put them in my shorts pockets ... needless to say, my mother was not very happy that night when she found them all smooshed in my pockets. LOL I had good intentions, though.
Not sure what kind of butterfly that is, Colleen, but I saw it on a pic of "raise your own butterfly", so it's some pretty one, I would guess, if some place is selling them as kits to watch in your house.

JW those crows do that hear too, I find bread in the bird bath all the time too!
CE tha caterpiller is a "Tent Catapiller" and we have TONS of them!! They fall from the trees and crawl on me and they poop everywhere! I was staining the new fence last night and they are coccooning under the boards and I had to rip them off by the dozens just so I could finish painting!!

I can send you lots and you can raise them and sell them as kits!! We'll be rich!! I send millions!! ha ha ha

Let me just say if there were millions of the c-pillers on the roads I walk I sure would not be picking them up and tossing them to safety. I only see a couple on my walks.

I think we have a nest of crows in the back field. I see them rustling around in one tree all the time coming and going and they are very protective of our whole yard cawing at us and the cats if we dare to come outside

Reprieve from the clouds for today. For real they say the rain is on the way tomorrow.
I must take advantage of all the warmth today. Maybe up in the mid 70's :)

63F/17C right now and beautiful. Best weather anywhere in the world right now. Birds all around, trees, water, blue sky, kind of a Pacific NW Eden.

Too bad it's so short. I've only put up my new bio-filters a few weeks ago and I'm not even sure they've matured yet, yet all too soon, in a few short months, it'll be cold again. Really, I think we only have 4 months or so of good nitrifying bacteria weather.

52 degrees and rainy. 52 is far from normal for mid-June. Maybe someone is playing a joke on me?!
