Cloudy w/ some breeze today. Might be hard to catch some rays today. Oh well it's good walking weather. Starting a new audio book today for my walk by Stephen King called Black House............sequel to the Talisman :sneaky:

It was HOT here today, and humid. Car said it was 90 at 5 when I was heading home from work. So, turned on AC ... and it did nothing! The fan for the furnace turned on, but no sound no NOTHING from the AC unit. Anyone have an "quick and easy fix AC" ideas for me to try? I see there is a small box on the house right behind the AC, opened it up, but not sure what it is, maybe a breaker or fuse for the AC? I just hate to pay $100 to have a tech come out and flip a switch, so to speak. But, going to suffer tonight in the heat. :(

Check your service panel for a popped circuit breaker or a blown fuse, whichever you have.

Make sure the disconnect box on the side of the house is turned on and check to see if the 2 small wires going to the AC have broke. Those are the low voltage wires that run from the furnace. Also make sure that you did indeed turn the AC on the thermostat to AC and not just the fan on. We have had our AC on for a few weeks now. We went camping over the Memorial Day weekend and had a blast. We went with some friends and between our 2 campers, we had 13 people in our group. The gnats were thick but they didn't bother us after it got dark. We brought the ice cream maker with us and had homemade ice cream our last night there. We couldn't find the premade mix so we got the stuff and made our own mix. It was super good.

Haro, I checked the breaker, flipped it off then back on, but it was on and didn't look tripped. Rob, I did the same with the box on the side of the house next to the unit, it was on "ON", already, but flipped it off then back on, nothing. There is one small white wire, and it looks fully intact, not broken. I don't see a second wire so assume either there wasn't one, or it's gone.
Thanks for the pointers, at least I feel like I tried the obvious things. :)
Rob, that homemade ice cream sounds yummy. I have an electric ice cream maker, but it hasn't been used in many many years, so long that I forget I even have it when I have company!

Colleen,Those are great pics of your koi. CE if you don't even hear the fan or anything then its an electrical issue. It seems like everyone pointed out the obvious things so I don't know what to say. Maybe your breaker is bad. It wasn't so hot here. It was a perfect day. Too bad I had to work!

Hopefully CE will get the problem sorted out, in the mean time I will take some of her "hot air" cause I need to get outside and do stuff, but it is barely 60 degrees right now, rained hard yesterday and ground is still soaked. Yard is turning into a jungle, and birds are very loud this morning, singing from the tree tops!

58F outside right now and drizzly.

You know, I've sometimes moaned and groaned about my pond, but this morning, watching my fish cavorting and playing with each other, it's all worth it.

You know what they say about people having dogs and cats living longer, I wonder if it's the same for fish. (cross post to age thread.)

Yes, and from your photos you post, you would be on the other side of that :)

Somebody does not want me to grow many vegetables this year.

My veggies suck this year, we have been wet and cool, nothing like you but cool for us. Usually have nice veg plants by now, they are struggling to grow.

61 right now but heading up into the hot humid 85ish.
