Better you Addy than us, we are only expecting less than an inch... If we have any measurable amount of snow at all this year will mark the most days that we have ever had measurable snow.

Oh my word! JW, I have never seen such graphic pics like you posted. I could not believe the whole side of that freaking mountain fell down!!! That's just unreal looking. I've heard of mud slides, but I guess I always figured they started "sliding" at the top of a mountain, and just gained inches all the way down, not a huge chunk from the mountain. That whole mountain is going to come down. It looks like what the side of small creeks and streams look like around here, when they cut away at the edges. But, that's a mountain that is taller than sky scrapers! Wow.
And, no, I have not left my water on lately. Turned on the timer in the house before I went outside 2 nights ago to fill tank, thank you very much. And, before timer went off, I actually remembered and shut off the water.

In spite of the cold weather (30f) and two feet of frozen snow still covering the area, I now have hope that spring is on its way! Flocks of robins are everywhere, grackles have returned to plunder my bird feeders, red-winged blackbirds are wondering why their marshes are frozen solid, and the damn starlings are starting to build their nests. Spring can't be more than a month or two away!!! :) And the smilies aren't working AGAIN!
John
OK, how does that work? The smilies page can't be found, but wnen I type in a colon and bracket, and hit 'post', it comes up as a smily anyway! ??
