We were supposed to get a dusting to 1 inch- looking like it's going to be a bit more! Just put a fine mesh net on one pond. Hopefully not enough to damage it.

CE I dont know about you? But I am done! with this mid-west weather :( ?!
It's Snowing!!?? Blehh!! After this winter I am ready to move to warmer places lol.
Totally with you on that, Fishy. But, seems like the whole US and Canada and UK are all complaining about the bad winter this past one was, so not really sure where I would want to move! I keep joking I'm going to move where Sissy lives. Seems she gets a small amount of snow, but is far more often in the 60's when everyone else is in the 30's and 40's. :D

In spite of the cold weather (30f) and two feet of frozen snow still covering the area, I now have hope that spring is on its way! Flocks of robins are everywhere, grackles have returned to plunder my bird feeders, red-winged blackbirds are wondering why their marshes are frozen solid, and the damn starlings are starting to build their nests. Spring can't be more than a month or two away!!! :) And the smilies aren't working AGAIN!
John
OK, how does that work? The smilies page can't be found, but wnen I type in a colon and bracket, and hit 'post', it comes up as a smily anyway! ??
I noticed the smiley thing lately, too, John. But, on other forums, I always use the ; - ) for a winky face and : - ) for a smiley face. Seems to work here, too ... without the spaces. :)
Oh and it wasn't the robins that "fluffed" all my mulch, it was the red winged blackbirds. They love the cattails in my farm pond, but I guess they decided that the mulch would be a fine place to locate lots of bugs. Or maybe it was the common blackbirds, but so far no starlings or grackles ... unless the grackles are the ones I'm calling common blackbirds!

We only got to about 27 today and down to 19F tonight. Then tomorrow up in the 50s. Also looking for a warm weekend. :)
Been seeing Robins here all month. Also red wings and grackels are here too. The robins totally cleaned the remaining berries off my crabapple tree. I have several and they ate all the berries off one tree and hardly touched the other one which still has a ton of fruit on it. Must not taste as good. (different variety of tree) :)

JW been watching the devastation from the mud slide. Terrible for all those people and families in that area. Glad you are safe on your hill.

I envy you bee hives addy :) wish hubby would let me tackle one. But alas....
I nicely asked honey to go with me to the bee classes, he did, now involved with me and understands all the work involved. (not cheap to start up buying all the equipment etc) My honey supports anything I want to do, and I support what he wants to do.

Cloudy, rain and a high of 45 today. Currently 38. I am so ready to start my pond up! Still some 32 and lower temps at night in the forecast so will continue to wait a little longer. I think this weekend I will put my pump and the filters in the pond to just be ready when it's a go :).

Down again, Addy! A pop-up says "The following error occurred: The requested page could not be found." Maybe too many people trying to post smilies all at once? (Insert disbelieving smily here.)

I wonder too when pics won't download, or one out of 3 will, the other refuse. Maybe too much activity at the moment. Never lasts long, then all is back working properly. As Addy said, probably a hiccup!
46 today, then 55 the next 3 days, 65 and sunny on Sunday (that's my "target" weekend day to be outside all day ...) and then 50's and 60's next week for highs. Yep, I think spring is FINALLY here, hopefully to stay this time! Haha ... "the following error occurred" ... no smiley's, so adding my own! :) ;)

36 degrees and sunny. Not terrible, but 10 degrees colder than the average for this time of year.
