It turned out a little deeper than i thought it was going to be and soon I will be sliding the bridge back over the pond .I just want to get the other filter done as that will have a rack inside and then lava rock and then quilt batting and then furnace filter will be on top .This filter will be there for nothing but picking up the fine stuff .I have to add another outlet yet to the earthbox filter .The water will go down and then be pushed up and back out

Ryan, the sump pump tubing I'm talking about is far cheaper than PVC pipe where I live. I'm not talking about the black flexible tubing that is made for ponds, but rather much cheaper sump pump black flexible tubing. I forget how long it comes, maybe 50', and it has flat area every 5-6'. That's where you cut it to use pipe fittings. I could never get the pipe fittings to work on the stuff that is "made for ponds", it was far too difficult for me, even with heating it up! This stuff is for burying in the ground, and is very sturdy. So far, no cracks or splits, but after I move the stream line INTO the stream, I won't worry if anything breaks or cracks, it will simply drain right back into the ponds. I really like how you must have heated the PVC pipe to bend it like that! Very nicely done.

CE, I have some of that sump pump hose you are talking about. I used it this past fall when I was doing a water change right before winter set it. When I was an electrician, we would run miles of PVC pipe for electrical runs. We had a 3ft, 5ft, and 10ft long hot box that we would use to heat up the pipe to bend it. It takes time to get the hang of it, but I got real good at turning the pipe just slow enough to heat it, but not burn it. The gas from the smoke that the burning PVC puts off will make you violently sick. But when I did my pond tubing, I just used my gas grill to heat the section that I wanted to bend, got the pipe limp like a noodle and then formed the pipe the way I needed it to bend. You want to have a wet rag close by to cool down the pipe once you have it just right. Also helps to have rough hands or leather gloves to handle it. My pipe also runs outside of the pond so when I'm working around the pond, I don't have to worry about kneeling or stepping on pipe. It won't break or split like the other hose.

I'm so ready for summer to get here. We can get our new camper and camp even more this year. We decided that as much as we used ours last year, a pop up camper maybe wasn't for us. It takes about an hour to get fully set up at the camp ground, and most of the time, I'm setting up alone. We are going to sell our camper and get a Hybrid camper. It still has the pull out beds, but no roof to raise up and all that stuff. Just back into the camp site, level the camper and set the jacks. Pull out 2 beds and you are ready.

sump pump hose is 25 ft long and at least if your hose breaks you will also not burn up a pump that way .It will just keep pumping it right back into the pond .

Sounds like fun, Ryan, camping this summer.
Today, I noticed that lots of places in my landscaping with mulch looked like someone had gone in there with a pitch fork and poked and loosened the mulch. Then I looked around and spotted lots of robins in my yard. I suspect they and other birds are tossing the mulch in search of bugs and worms. Pesky critters were tossing the mulch out of the beds. I'd like to see them in action. LOL Guess I won't worry about it, as the wind tosses my mulch, too. Will have to refresh it this spring.

Strange to you, but make good sense to me!! That sign must have been meant for the other side of the boarder!

Right now we are suffering a big spring snow storm, a blizzard is raging like crazy tonight. On the way home tonight from work the hill by my house has police all over and they closed half the hilk till the city gets out and salts and scrapes the roads.
