Freezing cold as usual, just off work now and truck is warming up so I am having a tea at the deli counter.
Thats my Friend Robin, she works with me in the Bakery department. She is going to get her lunch and visit with me for a while.

Cold @ 27f. All iceed up. Thick crystal covering as far as the eye can see. Just saw a male & female cardinal having a late lunch at the bird feeder. An unexpected beatiful gray dove landed not more than three feet from us. When Cathy laughed the big healthy dove took flight. Earlier in the day discovered a squirrel had eaten the cob of corn from the spiked feeder so I quickly placed out a full cob. Should stay below freezing until Sunday afternoon. Enjoyed chili dogs and a British mystery movie with my lovely. Time for a nap. :)

Well gave up to dark but it feels warm out and breezy .Boy colleen that is one nice clean store .Still around 70 out and adjusted some of the new led lights and adjust the outside cameras .I guess I did not tighten them enough when I installed them .Cleaned up some of the dead plant stuff and adjusted the pump on the pond for water flow .

Cold here, got up to a high of 12F today. Expecting a low of 1 below zero tonight with the same high for tomorrow. Supposed to get some snow on Sunday. Pond is mostly iced over but since the pumps are still running, so there is still open water. Ice is about 3 inches thick, but fairly clear in spots.

JW, I know what you mean about the "fake sun" Looked out the window this afternoon after work, the sun was shinning so bright I thought well maybe I should take the puppies to the park, so I opened the door to let the puppies outside but the cold air instantly frose my nose shut!!!

Park was cancelled for the puppies due to the extreme cold!! Right now -22 Fahrenheit (-30c) and dropping!!!
somebody please help me..... I am stuck in the "deep freeze" !!!

Colleen, do you ever get the Chinook's where you are or do they not have an effect that far on the plains? We didn't really get them in Coeur d'Alene, though we did get warmer periods they called "The Pineapple Express." Those winds wreaked havoc on the ski resorts.

Today I truly felt as if I was back out west. We played in the snow for hours and I even got a good hour of XC-Skiing in on our hills. As the day went on, more of the pond iced over, but as of right now, the pump is still working and my little Laguna aerator is hanging on.

The "big bad ice and snow storm" was not so bad where I live after all! I got really lucky. Only got freezing rain yesterday a.m., but with the 66 degrees we had the day before, the ground was far too warm to allow it to stick on the roads at that point. Then, snow didn't start until later in the evening, and it covered the little bit of ice, thawing it with the ground. Ended up with just a couple of inches of snow. Only 30 miles south of me, where my boss lives, they got 7-9" of snow! So, was glad I got the little bit I did. Roads from my house to town and the interstate were snow pack covered and slick, just went 35-40 mph instead of 60, no problems. Tonight the east/west roads are starting to drift, so very glad for the small amount of snow we got. Still, with only a couple of inches, it can cause problems blowing across roads in areas. I'll be snuggled in most of the day tomorrow, so no worries. Didn't miss any work.
Colleen, you sure are in the deep freeze! OMG, that's awful! I've tried to post a pic of my ponds, but computer running super slow. Thinking maybe some ice on the satellite on my roof. Koi pond totally open, only have aerator going, so waterfall didn't cool the water sooner. Goldfish pond 75% open, stream running into it just fine.

My weather is pretty much the same as Ryans.
Currently 2F

Running my 1500 watt heater in the pond and my little aquarium bubbler. Pond is about 75% ice covered. Hate to be running that heater 24/7 right now but don't trust my air pump since it
is only an aquarium pump. Cold is suppose to continue till the end of next week then we may get into the 20s! I will unplug that heater as soon as we get out of this deep freeze. (balmy though compared to Mitch and Colleen!)

61 yesterday am yesterday morning, 34 this am, 1.31 inches of rain since yesterday am, snow, sleet, freezing rain coming tomorrow. Then we drop into the teens at night 15 or so, high 20 days not as cold as you all, but cold for us for this time of year.
