I had left my pump in the skimmer, of course hubby said it should be fine but with this cold weather I decided I needed to take it out cause I was worried about how far it would freeze down. Put the heater in the skimmer about eight and at midnight I went out and pulled the pump out. Glad to have that done :) I'd really hate to have to replace that pump. I see on the weather channel we have a wind chill watch from Thursday afternoon through Saturday morning. Zero degrees right now, the high today is going to be near a balmy 10 degrees.

You guys in the States are sure getting it.
I see some weather stations in Wyoming and Colorado that are measuring down to -34.

8 degrees right now with a windchil factor of COLD with a high of 19 and -2 tonight...argh here it comes. The pond is frozen once again, but the bubbler is still going. Have to head out here shortly and put on the de-icer as it's not going to warm up more than this for the next week it looks like. Freaking out to even think the bubbler would stop (or freeze in place!) but hoping it wont! Hopefully the sun will shine this week! Stay warm folks!

36 and dropping. Pond is covered in cypress tree needles. Yard crew removing leaves from whole yard and pond surface. (crazy uh). Later when warmer and all trees bare they will scoop the bottom.

IMPORTANT- With such cold weather coming (20f) should I turn off my pump? I cannot remove the pump. Remember, the only fish we have are Gambusia's.

60 degrees at 11 am and hate this even my pussy willow trees are getting little fuzzy's on them and come saturday we get cold for 2 days /.If your pond temps are warm it should not freeze but that will really depend on how warm the water is .

I'm cold! 23F and this is getting old. We are not used to this stuff down here. Should be in the 40's now not 20's. Cold again tonight dipping down into the teens where we are in the northern part of the state. And there is that nice big glow ball in the sky each day providing nothing much but a big decoration lately.....................where is my warmth

Up from 34 to 35. Cathy dashed in with groceries during her lunch break. Chuck roast that she cooks inside a roasting bag until fall apart tender. Pork steaks for oven broiling. BTW, if you have never had Cajun seasoned broiled or bbq'd pork steaks you have certainly missed a flavor treat. Premium hot dogs with all the trimmings for a great meal along with other necessities. Sure wish we had time to get new tires on the Venza. Lucky Cathy is so close to work. All hilly slopes locally. Our city is good about sanding streets during icy times.

PS. All Christmas shopping done via Santa Web. Christmas celebration on Christmas Eve day for the whole family at son's home. Church in the afternoon. Reservations made at a lovely hotel near the kids.
