Ryan, when you have a job you love, and employer/employees that appreciate you, that is a lucky thing to have. I love my job, only have one co-worker, we get along like sisters, and make no grief for the other. It's a perfect office. I would love to work with more people, but seems the more you put into the mix, the more problems there usually are. I hope after the weekend you will be back to full force again. Take it easy and let your body recover more this weekend.
I love this time of year. Thinking today may be cloudy, but going to open south, east and west curtains anyhow. Love doing that in the winter, let in the sunshine/heat. Even on the days this week where the temp did not get above 35, since it was sunny, I would turn heat down to 60 in the a.m. before I left, and it was still 62 or above when I got home, so heat didn't have to run all day. I'm loving THAT!
I'm pretty sure the pipes should be fine in the new well housing, since the sides go down to the ground, and any heat from the well should keep it toasty. Believe me, I know about frozen pumps AND pipes from that well! First year, had to replace the pump, it was froze up. They did so, and then later that winter, heat lamp burned out and I didn't know it (had it running 24/7), and pump froze and cracked, had to have it replaced again. Costly mistake! That's when I put 2 heat lamps in and a thermostat plug in for them to run off of, and watched it closely when it was cold. Going to do the same thing this time, the thermostat will be towards the floor of the well top, and the heat lamps will be about halfway hanging down from the ceiling. With two of them, it shouldn't ever have to run very long before getting the temp back up, and all should be toasty warm in there. Going to have to plane down the edge of the door, though, to be able to get it open easier! My son fit it too tight, VERY hard to open now that colder weather has it swelled up.
