Too bad about the new humming bird feeders Sissy, hate those storms, they make such a mess all over the grass and break lots of flowers and nice stuff! I hate it when that happens, just when everything is looking real good, then bam! You get hit with a messy storm and that can be depressing! We missed a bad storm the other day, just missed us but hit the town of Suffield and left lots of hail damage I heard. On the bright side, the flowers can regrow very quick this time of the year! :)

We lucked out the major part of the storm to hit maryland started 40 miles south of us, the huge storm hit virginia. The storm in the am cooled us enough to draw the major part of the storm further south. No damage here.

Sorry you got smacked sissy

Sorry you got hit so hard Sissy. The 1st round stayed to our north and the second went south. We were totally prepared and it always seems if we are, we don't get hit and if we think why bother, we get slammed.

A lot of my flowering plants are broken off and hoping the will all come back .I was shocked it looked like it was going to pass us but then it just hit hard .I have been out there all morning picking up and cleaning up .Lots of leaves off the trees .I guess compared to some areas here I got off easy .Seems like the weather has been bad all over and I can't complain :cheerful:

Sorry about that mess that storm made for you sissy...........shame on it! It's been cooler here w/ all the clouds but we have had some periods of sun coming around off and on. I heard there was a tornado down south of us in McMinnville Oregon w/ 90 mile per hour winds. Tornado's are pretty much unheard of around the PNW.

Tornado Hit Oregon Town

McMINNVILLE, Ore. — It was indeed a tornado that damaged several buildings Thursday in the community of McMinnville, the National Weather Service has confirmed.
Nobody was hurt, but three commercial buildings, all of them used for storage, were damaged,McMinnville Fire Chief Rich Leipfert said. The porch roof on one nearby home also sustained minor damage, Leipfert said.
A two-person NWS storm survey team dispatched to the scene confirmed the damage was caused by a tornado.
The tornado’s estimated top winds in the most damaged area ranged from 86 to 90 miles per hour, Weather Service meteorologist Treena Hartley said late Thursday night. That puts it in the EF1 storm category.
Elsewhere it was defined by the damage found as an EF0. That class of storm has winds from 65-85 mph, Hartley said.
McMinnville is about 35 miles southwest of Portland.
“I was just across the way and I saw the whole roof roll up off of the building,” Kelly McDonald, managing partner of a nearby development, told the Yamhill Valley News-Register. “I wish I’d had the presence of mind to take a picture. I was just trying to get everyone inside.”
Sean Cahill got caught in a torrential hailstorm as he was driving. He didn’t see any cloud, he said, but he did see building debris flying in circles about 100 feet in the air.
“It looked like a confused flock of birds,” Cahill said.
Experts look at debris patterns to confirm whether a tornado is responsible for damage, meteorologist Miles Higa said. The survey team also reported some damaged trees near the buildings that were hit.
The McMinnville tornado hit at about 4:30 p.m., he said.
Funnel clouds reportedly were also seen Thursday afternoon in or near the communities of Hillsboro, Albany and Harrisburg, Higa said.
Tornadoes in Oregon are rare. The last notable twister struck Aumsville, east of Salem, in December 2010, according to a list on the National Weather Service website. The storm caused more than $1 million in damage to 50 homes and four businesses, but nobody was injured.

M hubby says "Project Harp" is causing the weird weather.... you have to "goggle it" not sure what that is, some weird thing he heard on the Short Wave radio. I think all the large asteriods we have had swing by earth lately may have something to do with the weather? One space rock that passed earth two mor three weeks ago was so large it had it's own MOON!! (I heard that on CNN) If our moon can draw earth's tide, and stir up bad weather, then these large asteriods may have some effect on earth to??
