so far sunny and windy out but temps heading up to 90 degrees and have to wait for mower to cool to add gas since i ran out

It is now hot and humid I had to come in I am soaked in sweat .Nice in the shade but not in the sun and rest of mowing can wait .

We are usually missed, up in the hills, they seem to divert the bad storm patterns around or away from us.

It is a good thing you are up in the hills Addy, stay safe and away from harms way. Meanwhile here in Hat, we are currently under a severe thunderstorm warning too, but I see the storm has moved off to the east now, just missed us by a hair!

We are still waiting for the rain to arrive. They keep saying it's going to so I don't water. Ok I give up, I'm going out to water right now!

They did liberal leave for the fed gov employees, i.e. you can stay home if you take a day off. In other words they are really worried about this storm, flash floods, tornadoes, shear winds. It is hitting ohio right now, heading here. We have hot and humid, wet air, this cold front will mix with that and make horrendous storms. And starting to hit right around go home time rush hour starting around 2 or so, the traffic getting out of dc is horrendous on a normal day, on a weather day omg, one time it took people 6 hours to get home.

I don't even turn the key in the car when things like this are coming, no thanks...........stay off those roads

The big yellow dangerous t storm box is heading our way, 30 minutes from here currently, we are right in its path for once. Took little one out for quick walk, you can hear the thunder. Luckily no tornado boxes.

mrsclem will probably get hit harder than us, our hills redirect the real bad. It got as black as night, wind howled, hail, rain, thunder lightening, then gone, very fast mover. The real serious storm hits this afternoon.

Oh boy then you guys stay inside and safe and don't go out anywhere! Rain came here overnight and now just sitting there being cloudy.

I hate dc traffic the outer loop is a nightmare even on low traffic hours .I always try to get there around 2 am and it seems to be ok then .If they are working on it or an accident forget it .Yep storm looks bad we are hot and humid and wind is starting to pick up but even that is hot .We are out of the bad weather area here but supposed to get really windy .Did most of my yard work already and hooked up some of the new landscape lights

Black Forest fire claims 360 homes, most ever in Colorado wildfire

I spent a good number of years in Colorado Springs as a R&D engineer with HP. A lot of my fellow workers, friends, and acquaintances built homes in the black forest. At least one fellow was very active in the black forest volunteer fire dept. The Black Forest is/was a beautifully area with rolling hills populated with jack pines. According to the news it sounds like they should all be safe even if their homes may not be.

Still here Addy- we had lightning and thunder last night but no rain. Were all prepared for the big storm this morning and it got dark with a little wind and then nothing! I guess this means we are going to really get it this afternoon. Most of the time storms coming up from the south break in half as they come across the river and miss a 10 mile section where we live. This one is coming from the west so will see what happens.

I am watching all the tornado warnings heading, I think, towards you. The storm hit us this am, wind rain hail etc. But nothing bad. The bad storm is going to miss us the afternoon, it headed south. Our hills save us again.

We are going to get some rain but nothing bad, at this moment.

A tornado warning is heading right towards my childhood home and where honey works. Luckily my honey was sent home in front of this storm ow he would be driving in it right now.
