What a day today! We when from 57 degrees and sunny, to 35 degrees, late this afternoon! Poppy was first to sound the weather alert, and started her "needy -ness" of "pawing and panting, with big scared eyes, tongue sticking out, and ran to me for much conforting. Poppy and I found shelter on the bed, under the blanket, while outside it poured rain, then hailed, big lighting and thunder pounded the house and shook the window, then came a mini blizzard of snow!
Then later in the evening, Poppy refused to leave the "safety" of the truck and go for a run with Bear, and Bear hates me right now cause I had to BaTH him real good after he got bugs and koodys from the park.... and that was the story of my life today :)

SNOW for tomorrow, low of 22 degrees...

I lost my peaches (have two dwarf trees) last year, they bloomed before bugs where out, this year, the bugs were doing their job. I don't think we are dropping to a level that will kill the lil peaches to be. Just down to 32 usually a quick down and up does not hurt the peaches. ...............hopefully.

I have a love hate relationship with the dragonflies. I hate that they eat most of the baby fish in my pond, but love that they are eating the bad bugs that try to eat the big vine crawling up my house. Last year I think I had a record number of big beautiful dragonflies and the vine had the least amount of small little flying bad vine eating bugs. Years ago when it was small, the bugs had it mostly eaten by July! I also have wild fruit trees like my favorite, the Choke Cherry trees, and lots of Crab Apple trees. Choke cherries are very small black Berry's that taste best after a good freeze, and have a bitter sweet taste. You can pop about 10 choke cherries in your mouth at once and spit the big seeds out. We also have some Goose berry bushes too. They are small red berries that are good to eat as well. I also have a Go I berry bush out front but you have to be very very quick to get any fruit cause the deer come and eat the tips of the bush off before the fruit is even ripe! Should have planted that in the back yard where the deer can't get to them.....

Right now temperature barely above freezing and we are supposed to get snow today. Sky is overcast and grey.

Wow I love choke cherries. Choke cherry syrup and heavy cream swirled on a saucer. Dip fresh from the oven bread in the mix. As the say it is to die for.

I was wondering if they would grow here. Climate is ok they do not like clay soil which is what we have.
