I sunburned my neck a bit working on the pond hole. We have something called ocean potion. Years ago my future wife introduced me to it when I returned from a water ski weekend feeling like a cooked lobster.

Instant Burn Relief Ice is enriched with lidocaine and nature's healer - aloe vera to help prevent peeling and aid in the healing and replenishment of the skin's natural moisture

So that is what that big set up is all about. It looks like a complex series of holding tanks at different levels. So where might the pond be hiding Howard the Humble? :) Oh please do tell us more about the holding tanks...
LOL what you see is what you get but it is not fully plumbed yet. The original idea behind this was a setup to grow out fancy goldfish fry. They are easy to clean because each has a 2 inch drain valve set in the bottom side. But there first use this year is going to be holding my fish while clean their pond. Ponds to rear fry need to be cleaned at least once a year to get rid of dragon fly larva. If you have not seen one they are quite the contrast to the artistic adults.
Watch this clip of one feeding.

We have several more of these tanks that we plan on using for filters. Square is not great but it should at least work for a bio filter stuffed with a roll of plastic snow fence.

The cut off tops of the now shorter units are great in the greenhouse for plants and might be good for goldfish fry from hatch to about an inch where you need shallow water.

$55 does not sound bad as I have heard of them going for $100. Ours were free. A highway construction crew put up a free sign and we loaded up. I asked if he had anything else he wanted to give away and he pointed to this tank. When he pointed to it I was on my bike. I raced home kicked my wife out of bed (figuratively), hooked the car trailer to the pickup and set of to rescue it. We are still puzzling on how to get 100lbs or so of wax out of it.

So far I have about 100 uses for it. Things like seasoning water for ponds and/or gardening,, collecting rain from the shop roof (if it ever rains), grey water collection, and lastly cutting the top of and using it as a swimming pool the hot summer days.

Have you ever noticed how things like garages that need paint look so much worse in a picture.

It is supposed to break 60. Just got back in and although it was near freezing a strong sun and no wind was good enough to run around with a sweatshirt. Maybe just maybe I can get that liner in today.

This AM I started moving large unneeded stuff from the shop to the garage but busted on of my DIY wood pallet forks lifting a non working quad bike. Time for REV 2. Wife has 4x4 foot platform scale in there for weighting pumpkins that is eating floor space and has to go. Would have been a lot easier with the forks.

We are now under tornado watch until 10 pm, going to keep the eyeballs open for twisters. We have had 5 hit near us since we moved here. Luckily they tend to touch and go back up.

A strong cold front is coming in pushing out the warm air == high winds, tornadoes, rain, temperature drop.............40 degree drop between today and tomorrows temps.

What are these tanks called? Would love to find a couple of them on Craigs List to put in the green house for plants. Hubby was talking about using ties and liners, but this looks so much simpler...

They are called lifts. Because they are made to be moved with a fork lift I assume. Also called liquid shipping containers.

They look like this prior to surgery

That one has a wood base. They also make metal bases which I prefer..
