Frost warnings for the next few mornings..... arg, of course, we have a beautiful spring, so everybody starts plating crops and gardens early, and then we have a week of lows of 25-35 degrees. Had to go outside and cover up plants last night.

Addy sorry to here about the fire warnings. Today we should see 68 and then tomorrow 70. Then next three days back down to low 50's and chance of showers. If I could I'd send some showers your way.

MT, glad to hear you're getting some warmer temps! It's only supposed to be in 50's here for high today and tomorrow, with frost warning/watches out as temps dip to mid 30's. Then back up to 80 by weekend, then back to 60's. Typical IL, back and forth, back and forth! I'm so anxious to get some hyacinths in my ponds, but they would surely die in this roller coaster weather, darn it! Lillys all have flower buds, I noticed this past weekend, probably won't actually break the surface for quite a while, though, as leaves are still burgandy, not turned to green, as water is down to low 50's again. Ho hum.....
Hope the fires stay away from your area, Addy! Northern IL is having another drought so far this year, too! Friend lives near Quincy, and they finally got an inch rain last week. I don't know what my rain total is so far, but by the looks of my grass, it's plenty! LOL

We are doing pretty good here weather wise for now. No rain has fallen for a few days now and has been sunny and warm. Today it's still kinda nice but more on the cloudy side. Think rain is coming tomorrow. Maybe I shall wish it your way addy as we've enough already for this Spring! Hope you don't get any fires near you!

I hate the wind, too, Sissy. Makes me not want to do anything outside. I don't have any wind breaks, though, besides my house. Good thing that the pond is on the east side, and the winds usually come from the west. :) Have a meeting to go to tonight, so will be back outside tomorrow after work. Supposed to be up to 70's this weekend, slight chance of rain, then back to high 60's for beginning of next week, and 60% chance of rain, so I'll be hoping for some rain by then with these winds. Not sure where the 80 degree day went, but it's gone. :-(

We usually get 3.5 inches of rain a month (average) since january 1 until now we have had 5.55 inches of rain. About 1.76 inches a month. Very very dry. The water is just sucked out of the pond with the wind and the low humidity. We are going to be in serious trouble unless the weather patterns change.

Corn has been being planted around here since last week. No rain in sight until next Monday. High winds, now it's dropping temps, freeze warnings tonight and tomorrow night. Not sure if the corn will emerge or not. Heard tonight someone was baling hay! OMG, just a few years ago, and forever as long as I can remember in this area, if you got your first cutting of hay baled by Memorial Day weekend, you were on a roll for that year! This is 50 days ahead of that! How crazy is that?!

31 this am, 49 today, 85 on monday Still no rain in sight. They keep saying possibility of, i.e. 20% which usually means nothing falls out of the sky. We are so darn dry it is scary. Winds that won't quit, predicting 30 mph today with high fire alert again.

It was 29 here, and Pecan, I noticed my daughter's area in UT, Price, was 47!!! The only good thing about that is that your UT weather typically heads east, so I'm hoping in a couple of days our morning lows will be in the 40's again. Tomorrow supposed to get down to 30 again. They were off with the predictions, too, as the weather said lows last night of 33 when I last looked. Glad I brought in my petunia hanging baskets ... at 3 a.m. when I could not sleep. LOL Hope I got them in soon enough, before they got frosted!

Great, j.w., now you've got me playing my old LP's of Simon & Garfarkel. Won't get any work done on the pond at this rate! :goodnight:
John
