How can I get busy, your still visiting with me and I'm having my coffee with all my pond friends here, and every time I get up this tablet "calls to me" and now my butt is stuck to chair!! Ha ha ha. NO TV show till I at least clean the dirty birdies... OK I going to do it now.... NO texting on this tablet till I get that done and vacum and sweep too!! OR Else! Mmmm someone can come kick my butt and get me going!!

CE can you take pictures so we have something to look while some of us here in Canada freeze our butt off!!?? Wish I was going on a cruise... going to cruise down to the river now and get a my Tim Hortons Coffee fix on the way, as I have not had a "Timmy" coffee this year yet and boy do I need one... ran out of coffee this moring so I only had one cup!!

CE can you snap pictures and post when your gone, like every day, so I can dream about the nice warm sun and ocean! Have lots of fun for me too!!

CE I am sorry to hear that... This year we have lost 3 of our good pets. We lost our cat Ranger we found him dying by the pond in the shade during summer. We also lost two of our labs. macey our black lab female was poisened. And we had to put down Our favorite Female Yellow lab of 12 years do to doggy cancer. So it has been a rough year for us. So I know how you feel. Enjoy yourself on your vacation!

It is so hard when you lose a much loved pet. When I lost my first dog Lady, who was with me for 17 years, it was horrible, house was too quite, and lonely. Four short days later I found my beloved Sadie, who died of cancer at 8 years later, two weeks before Christmas 2011, but not before she gave me Poppy and Bear. I have had animals my whole life and you really get attached to them little critters. Nothing better ever happen to my fat Poppy or big bad Bear. But if it does, then their might be a "Poodles and Petunia" ha ha ha...

Thanks for your warm thoughts, everyone. Yep, Tarzan is in heaven with his other buddies from my farm. Too many have died here, I'm beginning to wonder why I have any animals left!
Addy, forgot to tell you where we will be going: Bahamas, Grand Turk, Puerto Rico and La Romana in the Dominican Republic. Then when we get back, my youngest sister and younger brother and his wife are going to the Keys for 3 more days. Brother and I will dive again. Daughter, brother and I are diving 2 scuba dives on the cruise in Grand Turk. I hope it's crystal clear water, as it will be my daughters very first ocean dive, and I want it to be spectacular!
Yes, Colleen, I will have my computer and be able to downloads pics to it, and when we are in US territories, I may spend the money to send the pics to you all. Not sure yet if I will pay for the internet while on the ship, as it's very expensive. Not sure how to send the pics unless I do it from my computer. So, it may be on the 17th or 18th before I'm back on here, we'll have to see.

18 here this morning. I had shut down the pumps on our one pond this week as water temp was 40. It's frozen over this morning! I still have two pumps running on the big pond and no ice there. Guess I will have to put in the floating deicers now. It figures that the coldest day we have is the day they are comming to clean the chimney so had to let the woodstove go out.

CE. Sorry about Tarzan. My wife thru that when she was still in school with her dog. It's hard.

Mrsclem. If you leave your pump going, the water will take longer to freeze. I still have my pump running and have no intention of shutting it down. The ice is about 5" thick over the deep end of the pond. Fish are still nice and happy under the ice. No heater going but I still have open water from the waterfall over to the skim box where the pump is.

Not worried about the pond freezing but have stock tank filters that will freeze. I always shut my pumps down at the first sign of ice.

I bought the stock tank with the built in heater ,but I don't use it as a filter it is only for plants

The rain is back and temps are rising. Fish are surfacing and looking for that nice sunshine to come back. We'll see little fishies, we'll see, you just have to wait and be patient just like me. Somewhere out there in the great beyond there is a Spring trying to make it's way back to us!

Still clod here mid 20s this morning. Pond is frozen over with enough ice to hold my big up. I am down to just a sofball size hole in the ice. I have not seen the fish for weeks now. Kind of wish i had an underwater camera to peek on them.

I never felt nothing, don't know nothing, better go look on the news.... weather is real nice, too nice, not normal for January here in Medicine Hat, have not had any real cold days yet, should have had some -40F by now, maybe the Robins are right, some never went south for the winter this year .... odd! Sun is shining, feels nice and warm at 16 F, supposed to get to 26 F later this afternoon!!
