not sure but sun sure looks bright and the warm part is a real question .Here it was 52 and wind made it feel cooler and had to call battery they put in truck is dead and checked the guy must not have looked good at battery as date on it was 2011 so called and told them and e-mailed pic of it .I did not pay for it yet so they need to replace it now and that I wasn't paying for an old battery .I did not look at it the day they put it in because I was in eye doctors office and just gave them my keys and guy never gave me a bill for it either .They said they will bring a new one out to my house .

78, wintery mess hitting home, we won't start our drive for a few more days. Then it looks like we might have good weather!

It's 25 here this morning, bubbler has the koi pond 75% open now. I think tonight supposed to get down to 8, though. Yuck yuck yuck! Today is the day I have to decide if I leave the bubblers going and leave the skimmer pumps in place, or get in there and pull those pumps. I think I'm going to wing it and leave them going. Figure if I fill each pond to it's full level (they both are down just a little) then there is more liklihood the skimmers won't get too much ice in front of them. Plus, going to move the water bubbler more in front of the skimmer on the goldfish pond, so it will help to keep all the ice away from front of that. The big pump in goldfish pond that is under water, on a milk crate, is feeding the bog, and I'm not too worried about that one getting froze up. I'm so sad that my waterfall pump quit on me. Still not positive what happened, but will have to wait now to deal with that until the weather warms enough for the lines to thaw out. I'll cut that line and let it drain out when/if it thaws soon. At least no further pressure will be on it from frozen water. Not going to move the line, though, just in case that makes it more likely to crack.
Hope everyone had a Happy New Year last night, and stayed safe!

Sounds like you have had some really nice weather in FL, Addy. Glad your drive home will be snow-free! Nothing worse than trying to get home and the roads get bad ahead of you. I'll be thinking of you and your hubby on your drive home. How many hours does it take you to get home?

Yes be careful driving home on New Year day, might still be some crazy party people out and about! I had to comfort that Poppy late last night, let her and brother Bear out to make a Pee and three seconds later she was standing at the back door with her paws on the latch trying to get back in quick! Crazy party people were setting firecrackers off at two in the morning!! Had both the puppies in bed with me last night, conforting Poppy and Bear just didn't want to be left out!

So then I woke up an hour ago and everything outside was covered in several inches of fresh white powder. The cars look like white lumps in the dark morning. Went out to shovel the front walk, lost cause that was, got to the end of the walk and had to shovel my way back!! Looks like the snow may have quit now, going to have to shovel again once sun comes up in twenty minutes!

We drove home on 1/1 last year, no way this year, it was horrible, nasty aggressive drivers. We will be leaving early Friday am, like midnight 1am or so. If we drive straight it takes 15.5 hours. 1023 miles. We may or may not stop on the way. With my prius it takes only 2.5 tanks of gas, just about 25 gallons. We can't do pee breaks based on gas stops, not enough of them. The weather predictions look great, so far. Hard to leave this perfect weather, darn cold at home, no beach 5 minutes away. will post some pictures when we get home, some sandy damage, beautiful empty beaches.

In the high 20's and sun is shining so brightly and it feels so wonderful shining right through my computer room window keeping me toasty warm. Not a cloud in the sky! Life is good on this first day of the new year

Today at the river road, it would have been nicer but that darn cold wind, blowing over the ice cold land, made my fingers numb, the wind is always worse out here, compared to in town.

Now why doesn't anyone down south come do a winter vacation up here??? Look at how extra lovely everything is! Don't you just want to go for a nice big long long walk in snowshoes up here Addy???
