jw, you have some great animated GIFs. :)
The web idea is my wife's. I told her that if she could draw a trellis, I could build it....

Thanks sissy. To built the trellis out of 1 X 2 cedar, I drew out 1/2 of the web on a 4 X 8 sheet of MDF plywood then put 2 halves together to form the whole thing.
The pieces radiating out from the center are whole pieces. I evenly spaced out the 7 sections then cut small pieces to fit in between.
Here are a couple of pictures from a spiderweb from our previous residence.
Hopefully it gives a clearer picture for you.

The main one going across seems thicker than all the other pieces is that because it is the devide between the 2 halves .I know a wooden wheel cut .

Do you enjoy woodworking too? Cool.
The middle pieces of the web are 2 1 X 2's placed on edge that I used to support the weight of the 1/2 web above it. I did the same for the bottom half. The double 1 X 2's are sitting on a couple of cleats on the 4 X 4 posts.

need to ask do you remember how many pieces and just how big is it .I have 3 acres so really needed to get things done to keep it from looking like a barren piece of property .The hardest part was getting a lawn to grow in this type of clay soild and this used to be all pine trees so soil was very acidic .Developer took all the trees out before i bought all 3 --1 acre lots .Thank you but my older son helped a lot .I think putting stones on the front hill was the worst ,running up the hill carry one stone at a time was not easy .Plus i still own another place with almost 12 aces that takes some of my time too .

The spider web is 8' X 8', and I think it took about 25 8' 1 X 2's, plus the 4 X 4 posts. I didn't put the posts into the ground, I used some large metal spikes from Home Depot. I found the spikes were easier to work with when spacing for the web.
That's some beautiful property. It looks a lot like the western foothills of our Rocky Mountains.

I just want winter to hold off as long as it can .I just don't feel like dealing with the cold right now .I did put all my plants in the basement the other day after they said it was supposed to get cold .Plants seem to be fine in the pond .
