I am in New Zealand (Auckland). It is summer here so not cold, but man is it wet... Today is 26C (79F), 98% humidity, overcast and pissing with rain
Last Friday we had the wettest day on record. Beat the previous record from 1869 by over 50%! Massive flooding, people dead, hundreds of houses written off, massive disruption to infrastructure, landslides, you name it. We've also had other major storms including ex-tropical cyclones in the last few weeks. This January we have had over 20 inches of rain (well over half of that on the one day) which is 45% of the annual average, 260% of the summer average & 850% of the January average (and Auckland is not a dry city).
We got off lucky at our place but it's certainly slowing down my waterfall building project! (although I now have unplanned streams lol)
