Me too. I was watching the news, and I saw Morehead city mentioned. When things calm down I'm sure those without power will be back in contact.

It's gonna be a mess back there for awhile. Not sure how long as that storm and all the rain could be there for a week or more!

Well, we made it through the worst of it, and it was Hell for sure. Still here with us, this is the 3rd day of wind and rain but the worst is south of us finally, moving at 3mph I hear. Our power just returned after 36 hrs without. We have a generator for essential things like fridge, fish tank filters, a couple fans and lights. But the house got so hot and humid. I slept little the last 2 nights, and listening to a hurricane in the dark is terrifying. The winds and rain were just awful. But we have a well built house, no damage. Only my nerves are damaged. Yesterday it looked like we would be flooded when the pond behind our yard overflowed and was heading for us and the street in front had 6" of rain building up and heading for the garage door. But today the water is going down enough to make me less worried. Our city, New Bern, is in all the news since we have 2 huge rivers going through our city and both are flooding badly. The worst is yet to come with water. Please think kind thoughts for us and our state.

Oh gosh @BarbO so good to hear you made it safely through that storm. We were all thinking, hoping and praying for you. Praying now it gets better for all of you and those still suffering from the horrid amount of rain and flooding. I know you still have more of this to get through but hope it starts to get better soon. Hope you can get some sleep and peacefulness tonight.

Yeah glad to know you are still hanging in there.

Hope the flooding stays away from you.

Robert Simmons Jr., of New Bern, North Carolina, is rescued by boat from Hurricane Florence floodwaters with his kitten aptly named 'Survivor.' Simmons' father chose to stay behind in the house surrounded by water.

Glad you and your husband are doing okay, when I saw the news last night it just looked awful. Hope things for everyone down there improves sooner rather than later.
