What is your weather like ... today

We are as prepared as possible. Will ride it out at home. My husband is too disabled to move him anywhere and I can care for him the best. We are not in a flood zone and our house can take 135 mph winds. We have lots of neighbors close by who will help if needed. And my little pond is built with great overflow and drainage so that won't be a problem I hope. Our city and coastline will be very damaged from the 25-40" of rain though. Wind is just beginning here, Thurs 7am. Eye may pass 75 mi. south of us tomorrow morning as of now.

Sounds very scary to me @BarbO Praying for you and all the others in it's path! I turned on the tv this morning and they said it is heading straight for Wilmington right now and should hit tomorrow morning sometime.

I don't follow the news or the weather channel so I wonder how long does it take for a hurricane to pass through and be over?

I heard them say it would be around for a couple days!

A couple of days and you also have tornados embedded in the hurricane .My niece is up from there and she has video cameras on her house and it looks horrible already

Ashley and Nicks window was blown out in 1 of the bedrooms and 2 cameras seem to be frozen for now .They live 5 minutes from the coast of NC I did not know they had moved from the rental that they were in to this house

no rain and only sprinkles yesterday but boy are the winds gusting today .It blew my glider loveseat down the front porch .Woke me up at 5 am .Company is sleeping and they are exhausted .They are saying the winds are gusting up to 60 mph right now .But not a drop of rain yet
