Feels cold, it's low 60s and windy. Had no time to get used to the temperature drop, went from 96 degrees to low 60s overnight on Thursday, I need a slow drop in temperature to acclimate, not just over a thirty degree plunge.

Same here, we went from 89 to 57 in 12 hours.

Monocacy river
The river is out of its banks and has not crested yet. The bit of tree on the right is the normal bank.

Wow, you guys, stay safe!
The worst thing about it is if Florence visits, we are so saturated, water has no where to go except down the rivers, after running off the land.

We are so lucky our house is on the top of a hill. We have a small creek way down the hill, usually dry, not this year.

Glad you live up there on that hill.Lot's not that lucky! Hope the wind does not knock over a bunch of trees or roofs etc.

We are now under a state of emergency, saying we might have catastrophic flooding. It has shifted north towards us. We just had 4.5 inches of rain.
@addy1 looks like you live pretty close to some of my family, they live about 7 miles from that historic building.
We are about 1.5 miles from linganore high school.

They live about 5 to 7 miles from linganore high school. When I saw the map you posted earlier, I thought it looked familiar.

If you live at the bottom of a hill, you are subject to flooding hazards. If you live at the top of a hill, you are subject to wildfire hazards. We chose to live at the top of a hill and side our home with fiber cement siding and a metal roof.
There's not much you can do to stop water intrusion.
I've heard that the storm is predicted to stall and dump as much as 3 feet of rain.
I can't imagine.
Good luck to you folks near the east coast. I see it's supposed to reach landfall Thursday am.
We're supposed to get a few inches of snow on Thursday, but that's normal for here.

sometimes mud slides can happen if you live at the top of the hill also .This can be a concern that we all forget about .So far the weather channel is saying the winds will not be as strong as they say they will be here .The heavy rains concern me more .My brother came in from Norfolk and my niece and her family and my sister are here from near Camp Lejeune .They decided it was safer to leave than stay
