Snow headed our way. It's so cold again... even walking from the car to the building at work is painful! I keep reminding myself it's already February - this won't last forever!

The term someone used on one of my FB pages that got 2 ladies up in arms, one to the point of cussing, was, "I wish Mother Nature wasn't so bi-polar!" Yikes, it was meant in a silly way, we all are getting these weather swings, more than we remember from years past (I think the memory thing is gone with me anyhow, so if it didn't happen 5 minutes ago, I probably already forgot it :) ). It would be so nice to gradually go into winter, then let those really cold temps hang around a while (we all want to kill as many of those beetles in the ground as we can, right?!?), and then slowly warm up for spring. Not this 60 one day, 10 the next crap. LOL But, if anyone is bi-polar out there, I mean no disrespect. I have a friend who IS bipolar, and she thought it was hilarious so .... :)

Good point @CountryEscape - we had a terrible stink bug problem last year... they more cold days we get, the fewer stink bugs we will see next year!

And I do understand why some people may get upset when terms like "bi-polar" and "OCD" are used flippantly, but I think we all know it's not meant disrespectfully. Sensitivity is high about pretty much everything right now. I saw someone get worked up about a dog being referred to as a "pet" and not a "companion". Alrighty then... I think everyone just needs to take a deep breath and enjoy a pretty pond!

3"-6" of snow coming overnight tonight. It just started.
I've finally reached the point of being tired of snow. I knew it'd happen. Happens every year. The first few snowfalls are always great, but now it's like I've seen what I've wanted to see and I'm ready for spring.

JB, my sisters live in southern WI (Pewaukee, Wauwatosa, and Delafield) and they have only had about 3 small snows, less than 4" each time. I'm in south central IL, and I've had 2 snows of only about 2" each, so I'm hoping to get a good 6" snow yet before the winter is over with. :) Supposed to snow tonight, but they are saying less than an inch. Boooo ....

@Lisak1 I hear ya! Here's another thing that irritates me on the "pet" and "companion" dog thingy. I'm getting off subject, but people who have "service dog" vests on their foo foo dogs just ticks me off! I have a sister that does this. She goes on-line and gets the vest, a certificate, and even a letter from an on-line doctor that says she needs this "service dog". As clarification, a Service Dog has been professionally trained (most often) to help someone that is disabled. Yes, a person can be mentally or emotionally disabled, but a service dog helps the blind, deaf, those with diabetes (to tell the owner to take insulin), and other disabilities which can include mental or emotionally disabled, and has specific jobs to do to assist that person. An "emotional support dog" is simply that ... those foo foo dogs that someone wants to have with them wherever they go, including to restaurants, funeral home, dentist office, grocery store, on airplanes, etc. Yes, my sister actually takes her dog with her EVERYWHERE! She tells people if they ask her why she has the service animal, "You're not allowed to ask me that question!" Well, until places of business realize that an emotional support animal has no official training, other than to walk on a leash and not bark/whine when in a public place, they will be allowed. The sad part is that when people have REAL service dogs/animals, they paid big bucks for that animal to have been trained for their specific needs. My sister got her "rescue" dog for free, and tries to compare it to a highly trained animal! In fact, to really show you how crazy my sister is, she once had a baby wallaby which she got "service animal" accreditation!
OK, off my soap box! :) :) :)

Snow just started here, too. We're in the 5-7" prediction range. Like you @JBtheExplorer I'm feeling pretty done with snow. But I remind myself that some of our biggest snowstorms have come in February in the past, so we better brace ourselves - remember this? February 2, 2011. This was our big, snow loving Malamute who made it halfway down the driveway and turned around to come back inside. Even he wasn't thrilled that day!

I hear you on that one @CountryEscape - did you hear about the woman who tried to board a plane with her emotional support PEACOCK the other day? The airlines had told her in advance that she wasn't going to be allowed to bring the bird on the plane, but she tried anyway. And a friend of mine posted a picture the other day of a woman in her local Walmart who had her PONY. On a leash. Wearing a vest. What next? A giraffe? An elephant? Maybe a lion. We've lost all reason.
