Now 5"+ of snow expected tonight into tomorrow. How much we get will depend on lake enhancement. I don't love snow, but I am looking forward to finally going on a snowy hike or two.

68 degrees down to 28 degrees ,no wonder people are getting sick .So far water at th bottom of my pond is at 50 degrees and upper water is at about 41 degrees .Sun shines on it most of the day and the septic tank being only a couple of feet away from the pond helps a lot

Bright warm sun today and time for our first bicycle ride of the year! 36 now but hope it makes it to the 54 they have forecasted. Need to get some use out of these new bikes we bought last year to replace the stolen ones.

We've now been upgraded to a Winter Storm Warning. 6"-9" of snow possible.
Starting tonight and going all the way through tomorrow.

And even with this cold and frozen rivers, ponds etc, I have been seeing herons flying over. Searching for some open water and food!

My net stays on year round.

Yeah @Jimmy Gibson we make fun of our Tennessee relatives when everything gets shut down with an inch of snow. But we also have to realize that they aren't really prepared like we are - some counties don't even have their own snowplow!

Our county has one functional snow plow......which is also the only salt dispenser.....which is a converted dump truck with a blade mounted on front......lol

We got snow! All the bitter cold finally paid off. We’ve had freezing temps, but no snow till now. The husky is having a blast, the cats all came in acting like it’s the end of the world, but it’s just a bit of snow. I’m hoping for more, like a foot or so, that sticks around a month or so to kill off bugs and melts come spring to water the plants. Weather seems to go around us here, which is good when it’s tornados, but not good when it’s rain we need. So I’ll take a few inches of snow and be happy!
