Just got home from search & rescue K9 training out on Long Island this weekend. Almost didn't get off the island as when I went to leave late this afternoon most of the gas stations were out. Got home about an hour after the rain started. Pumped out about 8" inches out of the pond tonight. May as well try to find some lemonade in this.

Expecting the eye to cross near our area sometime tomorrow, probably will be a tad south from me over northern Delaware. My fire department in Delaware has standby crews at all four stations. Will be able to stay at home tonight. Preparing for tomorrow. The state of Delaware will probably be mostly underwater by tomorrow evening. Hopefully I don't have to respond with my dog. But have to prepare for the worse.

excellent brownies! we sampled even though the storm is not here yet.

They shut the fed gov, so my honey home. Made the smart decision to keep the workers off the road. The eye has moved south again, going right over dc, heading right for us now.
All of our airports are closed, metro rail is shut, bay bridge is being shut to certain traffic.

Here is it just raining a little, but it is a lot closer. The red dot is our house, my weather station sends data to noaa
The wind predictions have gone up 75 mph here at our house later.

Getting a lot of rain so far but the winds haven't gotten too bad yet. Waiting for sunrise to check things out. I'm not happy to see the change in the storms track. Looks like DC is getting hit hard.

Be ready later today mrsclem, it is 85 mph right now, hitting dc with a possible 75 plus winds. Trees will be dropping, wet soil, high winds, old trees === power out.

Yep it drifted more south, the track that is. Honey has an old house off the bay, with a bad storm surge it could flood.

Bet they keep dc shut until wednesday if not later. My honey gets to stay home.

Glad he gets to stay home. We are talking what ifs here. Hubby works 10am-10pm and they don't have a night shift. If it gets too bad he will stay at the airport tonight.

Just realized we haven't used the new generator yet. Had to find the book and do some quick reading! 3hour startup with NO LOAD! Guess I will start it up as soon as the power goes out. My kitty Boo is trying so hard to catch the leaves that are blowing past the window. Silly kitty!

Craig, what type of K9 do you have? In your avatar, it looks like a hunting dog, so assume you also have different dog as your K9 companion.

just a light rain and not much wind here but temps are down to 42 this morning BRRR and only getting up to 55 at least thats what they say .I see over in West Virginia they are getting snow .Talked to friends there and in Galax and he told me that it is blowing stinging snow .I wonder how they protect all those gas storage tanks along the shore in NJ from this .

Heavy rain and the wind is picking up. Temp is down to 49 so will probably fire up the woodstove if the temp in the house starts to drop.

You might want to warm the house up before you start the fire in case you loose power you will have plenty of wood to stay warm with .Hang on hopefully it will move through fast and good luck to you all .
