Currently the eye will be about 50 miles north of us, it will be a tropical storm by the time it gets here, but still blowing and raining. Yep homemade from scratch brownies! made with orange peel, freshly zested..............so good!

I look forward to a few days of rain.......some good down time.

Brownies sound really yummy! Unfortunately, all I have on hand is the boxed stuff ... for some reason those dont sound good at all after reading HOME MADE...

Storm wise, not much happening here yet. A bit breezy out there, and it is "misting"... just enough to be annoying while driving... One of the kids at the convience store told hubby a couple hours ago that the police have been by her house advising to evac, but I could find nothing online saying ANYTHING like that for our area... Well, the EAS (emergency broadcast thing that interupts the tv shows) just came on (has been coming on with coastal flood warnings), but just now the message was modified to add some evacs in our county. We have water (ocean) inlets everywhere here, and the last time I was out, it was obvious the water levels are high already. It looked like hightide plus a bit, but according to the tide charts, was midtide, going out... If it comes up more than 3-4' we just may have some water in the backyard:-( Oh well, the basement floor is higher than the back part of the yard that is inside the 100 yr flood plain area...

Only other thing going on here is an issue with gas. I procrastinated filling up... Son text that the place I go to half the time was out of fuel... so I shot right out and filled up at the other place I go to... Hubby took the rig and machine to fuel up, and his first stop was out of diesel, so had to go to a second place... Youngest was just on her way home and called that the gas station she stopped at was out of regular and midgrade, but was selling the super for the same price as regular ($3.85 gallon - SCORE!) and wanted to know if that was okay to put into her truck...

Got dishes done and laundry. No brownies but a giant pot roast so all is well. Got rid of a cat food stealing possium this morning and had animal control come and get a crazy dog that attacked my car and then came at me! Still recording more programs so have something to watch when Directv can't find signal.

Okay, I need to vent! Why is it that some of the states in the path of major harm are JUST TODAY asking the president for a pre landfall emergency declaration??? While my state and specific area will take some serious damage, we do not have the hottest seat, and our bone head of a governor asked for this late last week. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE??? It doesnt take a genius to understand that a storm with the sheer mass of this one will leave many communities in need of emergency assistance. I really hate people at times!

very true thats why I posted about Chris Christy in NJ as he waited until the last minute to even put out the warning and now people in Atlantic City are trying to get out .John called and said they are at a shelter because he could find no gas stations open and ones that were open had long lines or no gas .So they gave up and went to a shelter .Every one knows down there how bad it floods in Little Egg Harbour and yet he waited to tell people .I told John to get out a couple of days ago and wish he had listened .

At least I am not going to get the worst but worry about those in the storms path and how high storm surge will be .My son said windows in NJ are really getting hit with some hard rain and winds have increased and the storm is not even there yet .

We're still sitting here more or less clueless of what to expect. We know we'll be getting something, but they keep changing the predictions for the Cape. We are all as prepared as can be. House is prepped... Supplies, both for the house, and storm damage cleanup are all set.. fuel, all good now.. Noticed on the Weather Channels newest update, we graduated to having a reporter for the weather channel in Chatham (a few minutes away), but the report she gave was really misleading. They had her down at the fish pier, which ALWAYS floods during a Nor'easter. The media, even the LOCAL MEDIA is giving us limited to no info. We are all going off of our own knowledge of if x happens at xx, then xxx, will happen here... Might be nice to have some professional input. They cant even tell us that they simply do not know LOL. Not feeling warm and fuzzy about their models either.
